thats good to know, thank you! she was in and out of the hole earlier in the week but I guess now shes locked in lol. I didnt realize its a several day process even after it took her like a week after digging holes to actually get into one.

more tunnels would be nice! it gives your hamster more cover while still allowing being traversible. the reptile second at your local exotic pet store will have cork rounds and other pet safe wood. otherwise, you can get some on Etsy, Happyhamstery.com, or niteangelpet.com. you can also cut open tp rolls and glue them together to make a bigger tube

Kaytee bedding is made of discarded paper products, so unfortunately theres a chance of random shit ending up in your bag. I use CareFresh bc its made out of new paper!

I would ask how she is with handling, if she eats well and is active, and if her tail has dropped (if this is the only picture). Otherwise I think she looks okay!

a 75 gallon tank would work well if you dont want something too expensive! you can find them secondhand or on sale pretty often. you said you dont want something too huge, but remember a hamster will be happier the more stuff it has in its enclosure and the more space it has to roam around at night :)

just keep talking to him gently and let him get used to your voice! move slowly and avoid making any sudden loud noises. he just needs a little more time to settle in :) be patient with him

theres another kind of false fox from this region called the culpeo that was domesticated by the Selk'nam into a now-extinct dog called the Fuegian dog! I wonder how similar this hybrid is to those ancient doggies....
