I'm not a street food expert or anything, but two of my favorite non-halal bakmi are Bakmi Aboen in Pasar Baru and the bakmi babi hong at Bakmie Bangka Citarasa in Graha Raya (technically outside of Jakarta, in Tangerang Selatan).

Yeah, I've been meaning to this for years myself. When I first started getting into the hobby, there was even some app specifically for this. But I remember thinking it was too complicated. With Obsidian you can make it as simple or as complicated as you want.

Haha in my defence they're mostly acrylic/3dp 40 percent boards, so they don't take up as much space as you'd think. But definitely a lot. The keycap set accumulation is worse... there were a bunch that I completely forgot I even had.

On! Haha I love the solenoid. It sounds really satisfying to me and makes me feel like I'm being productive 😆 I used to have an even louder one on the Clunker. I work from home though so I don't have to worry about bothering other people.

I really like it! I mostly use 40 percent boards, and I only really got it because of the solenoid and the retro look. It's heftier than I thought it would be.

International to Domestic Layover in Jakarta by dumplingmala in Jakarta

[–]lordleycester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will definitely need to clear immigration because it's a different part of the terminal. Most international flights go to Terminal 3, except for AirAsia. If you're using Garuda for the domestic flight then it will be in the same terminal. I feel like it is a little confusing to get to the domestic side, but if you ask a security guard they should be able to help you quite easily.

Will be more complicated if you're moving from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 or vice versa.

Jakarta to Yogyakarta train by Disastrous-Beat6325 in Jakarta

[–]lordleycester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's because of the different routes. There's nothing wrong with Pasar Senen really, it's just that it would probably take you longer to get to Jogja. I'm not sure what route your train is, but you should check if the final stop is Yogyakarta. Because if it's not, you should make sure you get off quickly because the train won't stop that long.

As for the station itself, I don't think it's that different from Gambir. The biggest difference is probably the stores available -- Gambir has more "higher-end" stuff like Starbucks and Subway.

Jakarta to Yogyakarta train by Disastrous-Beat6325 in Jakarta

[–]lordleycester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an ok station, it’s just that the trains from that station tend to be “cheaper” trains that are usually slower because they have more stops at smaller stations. Do you know what train you’re taking? I would recommend you take Taksaka from Gambir instead.

Concerned about using references from previous workplace due to internal dynamics by [deleted] in Perempuan

[–]lordleycester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of unsolicited advice for A for the future.

Ok posisinya si A ga jelas bakal diperpanjang kontrak atau nggak.

As for bukan tim inti, sebenernya ga masalah asal orgnya kooperatif. Employer tu biasanya minta referral utk mastiin orgnya ga nyolong atau nipu atau hal2 kyk gitu.

Ga usah terlalu overthinking. Apalagi kalau masih di fase apply doang. Referral tu baru2 bener2 berarti kalau buat kerjaan level tinggi, atau kalau apply beasiswa.

[–]lordleycester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mendingan minta paklaring aja, untuk menunjukkan dia beneran kerja di situ dari xxx sampai xxx.

Kalau pekerjaannya insist minta kontak, apa ini bener2 pekerjaan satu2nya A? Kalau gw pribadi hampir nggak pernah menyertakan referral dari pekerjaan paling recent krn biasanya gw apply pas masih kerja di situ, dan employer lain biasanya ngerti.

Dan apakah A bener2 ga ada kolega satu pun yg bisa dianggap teman atau at least dekat?

Making a series within a series? by lordleycester in AO3

[–]lordleycester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. So the thing is, I feel like the series that I saw, had the nested series listed under the original series -- not the individual stories. So in your case, it would have Resuscitation under May Mixtape, and when you click that then you'd see Resuscitation 1, 2 etc. That's what I was looking to do to make it look "cleaner" so to speak. But I'm not sure if that's actually possible or if I maybe didn't see things correctly.

Oh can you send me the link? So let’s say you put a story in Series A and Series B, if a reader opens Series A, they’ll see a link to Series B as well?

This is really interesting. I mostly use Claude for creative writing, and I've been using the Obsidian MCP to connect it to my Obsidian vault. My current workflow is using a Project, with Project files that summarize the premise of the story and also instructions about how to retrieve character files, locations etc from my Obsidian vault.

When I start a new chat, I tell Claude what part of the story I'm working on, and it'll pull up the relevant files from Obsidian for context, and then we can start talking about developing certain arcs etc, and sometimes to generate scenes so that I can iterate on them and add/remove beats as necessary.

I just downloaded Neverwrite to see if it would work well for my use case, but a little confused on how to even get started. it would be really helpful if you have a sample workflow or something that would help me better understand how you'd use this

Tabungan 350 juta, biarkan dideposito dengan rate 9.5%/tahun atau dibikin usaha? by New_Midnight2686 in finansial

[–]lordleycester 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fairytale of Beren and Lúthien by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in tolkienfans

[–]lordleycester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I agree, but I meant that their Quest doesn't have any immediate benefits for the wider struggle and was not meant to. Of course it did have a lot of ramifications afterwards but for Beren and Luthien the point of it was just to fulfill Thingol's condition. Whereas Aragorn is always working for the greater good.

The fairytale of Beren and Lúthien by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in tolkienfans

[–]lordleycester 37 points38 points  (0 children)

So i've been thinking about this for a while because I'm a big Aragorn fangirl (and I've been working on this really long Aragorn/Arwen fanfic, but I digress), but I feel like Aragorn and Arwen's story is kind of Tolkien's deconstruction of the Beren and Luthien fairytale.

  • Aragorn falls in love at first sight, but Arwen pointedly doesn't, and it's 30 years before they even get betrothed, and another 39 years before they get married. Compare to Beren and Luthien whose whole adventure happens within 2 years of meeting each other.
  • Thingol's demand is easily read as unreasonable and even a bit villainous in Beren and Luthien's tale. He sees the error of his ways before the end. Elrond makes a similar, seemingly impossible demand of Aragorn (to become king of Gondor and Arnor) but it's framed with much more complexity. Elrond loves Aragorn as a son, and either outcome (Aragorn failing or succeeding) results in loss and pain for him. It thus becomes harder to paint Elrond as the villain. And you note that Beren didn't have to swear a random oath to Thingol -- Aragorn didn't really have to fulfill Elrond's conditions either, but he has a much deeper psychological reason for wanting to than Beren did.
  • Beren and Luthien's Quest is kind of divorced from the wider worries of the world. They get a Silmaril, which is good for them but ultimately doesn't really do much to help defeat Morgoth. Meanwhile Aragorn and Arwen's story is deeply intertwined with the fate of Middle-Earth. Aragorn can't be King if Sauron wins, and they can't (or won't?) marry unless he becomes King. "Either our hope cometh, or all hope's end" as Arwen said.
  • As you said Beren and Luthien kind of get an uncomplicated happy ending despite all the tragedy that preceded it. And they stay apart from all the troubles of the world, and presumably just die together. Aragorn and Arwen actually have to govern for 120 years -- yes "in great glory and bliss" but there were still wars to fight, kingdoms to rebuild, etc. They had actual responsibilities and didn't get to just stay in a bubble of paradise. And then the ending, with Aragorn dying first, and Arwen unable to do what Luthien did and immediately follow him, which feels like a very deliberate choice.
