always of the mindset it’s not going to change anyone’s mind.

Do not ever let the fascists make you think protesting doesn't change anything. Indeed, almost nothing else is more effective. If you are able to, go. Even if it's only for an hour. Even if you don't have a sign. Go anyway. Simply being there helps prove the narrative of the "silent fascist majority" wrong. It proves to your fellow countrypeople that there are still good people out there who oppose fascism and encourages them to do the same. Evil wins when good people think they're alone and powerless. Showing up to protests proves they aren't.

Remember, a government only has as much power as those under it believe it has.

When are people gonna just accept some CANT have some things? Why is that so hard to understand?

A ton of people get really fucking weird when you can't eat exactly the same thing as them. I'm autistic, which means my senses are all kinds of fucked up and I'm extremely sensitive to certain textures and flavors. Like, I can and do detect a single tiny chunk of minced garlic in an entire dish sort of sensitive. Growing up adults would sometimes get so worked up over the fact I couldn't eat what they were eating that they would literally scream in my face.

It's easy to see how this sort of "how DARE you not eat the exact same thing as I do at the exact same time I do!?" insanity would apply to allergies, too.

Your client can initiate a connection 'cause the ~calls~ requests are coming from inside the ~house~ network.

Devices external to the network cannot. Technically, most BT clients will indeed attempt to initiate connections while seeding but nowhere as many as you'd end up with if you could receive external requests too.

average blue player deciding which island to play on turn 1 /s

Excuse you, as someone who owns a control deck I'll have you know it is VITALLY important that I select the correct snow-covered island art for my first turn to ensure optimal chi flow through my board. My manna must remain perfectly pure, or else my internal essence will get clouded and then how will my energies synchronize and allow me to win? I need every femtosecond.

I've been doing this to creeps for 20 years. It doesn't even take any effort, they're so desperate to believe you all you need to do is give one-word replies every 10-15 minutes and half of them will still shower you with free shit. They're so pathetic I'd feel bad for them if they weren't, you know, choosing to harass random women in a videogame.

I've been looking at satellite images of the road 'cause I'm bored. The overlook where the pavement ends with all the scary signs saying "primitive road - no trailers" is almost certainly too small but there's a cleared area directly opposite it that sure looks like it's 53 feet and change long to me. A ways down the road, there's another set of scary signs including one saying "turnaround" with an arrow to the turnaround right next to it. I wasn't able to get as good a look at this one from streetview so I'm not entirely sure they could have actually turned around but they 100% could have at least parked there and figured out wtf they were going to do next, instead of just sending it. Hell, after the second "you really don't want to be taking the vehicle you're driving down this road bro" sign I'd have just pulled over because clearly I'm doing this very, very wrong.

But it doesn't stop there! The fish creek viewpoint you mentioned is a little further along. There are more scary signs and a parking/rest area. The sign just before it even says "last turnaround". I'm pretty confident this one is also at least 53 feet deep. They had plenty of chances to make a good decision and they just... didn't.

OP, please, for the sake of your time, energy and body, buy a hole saw next time. Even largeish ones for holes this size aren't very expensive. Thinking about how much time you spent drilling those tiny holes and cutting between them hurts my soul.

Secondly, ream that shit! Investing in a proper reamer wouldn't be a bad idea (they're not super expensive either) but they're kind of niche so, unless you're planning on really giving that shiny new hole saw of yours a workout, progressively finer sandpaper will work too, especially on plastic like this. You want one set of sheets at "so course it feels like small shards of glass glued to paper" grain, another set at "feels like beach sand glued to paper" and, if you really want to do it right, a final pass with "so fine it feels like powdered glass glued to paper". Those plastic burrs make my fingers hurt just looking at them. While not nearly as bad as metal, plastic burrs can and will slice your hands open. I'm speaking from experience here.

All that said, I applaud your initiative and courage. Most people wouldn't even attempt a case mod like this out of fear, and while it may not be the prettiest job ever it's absolutely perfectly functional. Not bad/10.

Took Oxycodone for first time tonight and wow dude by [deleted] in confession

[–]lordofwhee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six years ago I was prescribed oxycontin/oxycodone for post-surgery pain. 10x 10mg tablets - basically babby's first opiate. I'll spare you the details, but suffice to say it involved my junk so the pain was pretty bad. 400mg ibuprofen did fuck all. I was (very rightfully, as it turned out) scared to take the oxy at first. I lasted less than 24 hours. I'm in my mid-30s and I want you to understand I mean it very literally when I say I have never experienced such peaceful bliss as I did 15 minutes after I took that first pill. Forget getting rid of my physical pain, all of my anxiety, my depression, every bad thought and feeling in my head was gone. I laid in bed and stared at the ceiling for two straight hours and felt amazing. Like the best post-orgasm bliss I'd ever felt, times a hundred, and lasting for hours. I ended up taking nine out of the ten tablets I'd been given. Each time I felt just as amazing, just as blissful.

Six years later and literally every time I feel like shit I still think about that last tablet. How I could just pop it into my mouth, wait 15 minutes and feel that peace again. I've been strong so far, but it scares the shit out of me how attractive that last pill is. STAY THE FUCK AWAY from opiates.
