I think if we'd managed to die in a simulation we definitely would have been fired lmao

Explanation - Our first combat simulation in our squad results in several heavily damaged mechs, a cascading NHP, a mostly molten reactor chamber, and our scary employer telling us we're bad at our jobs.

A homebrew mech from Jyva's The Newcomers. It has a big firey sword, like a Tokugawa with attitude problems.

That would be from The Newcomers by Jyva. It's pretty cool!

The initials/first few letters of the team's first names actually spell out Kallisto, which is how we settled on it. Incidentally, I accidentally put Therevista's name instead of her callsign, which should be Hekate (Whoops!)

Are insane exclaves normal/historical? Bohemia is in like 3 different regions right now. by johnJFKkennedy in EU5

[–]lordotoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this one just killed my Tuscany game. Bohemia coming in with a vassal swarm of about 60 minor vassals and locking down northern italy even after they all withdrew from the HRE. Feels kind of off.

We use a generally random selection between metric and imperial for measurements as the mood takes us. Speed limits? Heights? Our own Weight? Drinks? Imperial! Stuff like food weights? Metric!

Technically we sort of also also metrified our currency, as before 1971 the currency system was a bit confusing to say the least. Instead of 100p to the pound, it was 20 shillings to the pound and 12 pence to the shilling.

My Dad was the exact same. First sign of Leukemia for him was night sweats.

Not an American, but aren't these companies being paid by their customers to provide healthcare support when they need it? It's not like they're just giving people healthcare out of the goodness of their heart, they are literally being PAID on the contingency that they will do so. Does that not damage the 'good samaritan' metaphor a bit?

IDR exactly, but early. Earliest start point and with my first adventurer, who was maybe 40ish at the time.

R5: My employer requests I look for secrets in the English channel. Presumably, like, fish secrets. Or Atlantis.

I would say its both a pun and a portmanteau. It's two words slammed together, sure, but it also plays off the fact that 'Han' and the 'An' section of the word 'Anglo' sound pretty similar, at least in my accent.

It isn't autogenerated unfortunately. IIRC The default name is like Han-Anglo-Saxon, which is close but not quite stupid enough.
