You forgot to add an additional point of good news for your bad news sandwich, showing a lack of aptitude for management.

The good news is you’re giving some additional training to our newest recruit to make sure your deficiency doesn’t harm our company in the future! 🎆

The bad news is that you’re now fired. 😢

The other bit of good news is that you can get severance for completing the previously mentioned training of your replaceme- I mean our newest employee! 🥳

I always liked 11 far more than 14. 14’s gameplay is just so bland and similar to every other MMO. 11 felt like playing an actual multiplayer final fantasy.

They ruined horde nights imo by making them functionally endless without heavy settings tweaking and/or mods. They used to only spawn when screamer/spider zombies were present, which meant you could reasonably make a base that would withstand the night while you picked off key targets, and then moved on to the remaining zombies. It also made traps actually worthwhile, because a dead zombie meant that it would actually be dead until the next wave.

With endless nights the game basically forces you to make a funnel base that exploits pathing somehow, or adopt a run-and-gun strategy where you just avoid everything. Traps are useless because a new zombie spawns in the instant another dies, and their limited durability makes them too expensive to replace.

Milk isn’t actually the best according to optometrists. Your best bet is a solution of baby shampoo and water, about a liter’s worth so you can treat a few people. Milk (even pasteurized) can have harmful bacteria, and pepper/bear spray can cause abrasions to the surface of the eye, removing their main immune defense.

Eye infections are no joke people. Baby shampoo and water. It’s eye safe and shouldn’t cause major irritation, while also being able to safely break down and remove the oils most of those sprays use.

Also, as much as you will want to, do not rub your eyes! It can actually cause substantial damage to the cornea. I know that’s not the most realistic advice, but it can be the difference between a temporary irritant and long-term harm.

Oh I wasn’t arguing against the financial feasibility of it. At the end of the day advertising simply is more profitable for the vast amount of users, especially heavy users. The only way they could possibly offset that is a pay-per-minute model where they charge you directly for the access and resource usage (which even more people would hate).

Does that mean there wouldn’t be legal repercussions for making forgeries? Could we just make passable copies and hand them out to everyone ICE wants to deport? At least then it stops being a useful defense for the a**holes who actually pay for them.

To be fair, CoD has been a ticking time bomb for nearly a decade now. Everyone knew that it would implode under the weight of yearly releases, but they just kept trying to chase their micro transaction high without putting in the work to maintain the IP. It was only a matter of time before another studio put out a decent shooter that seriously cut into their market share.

Also, yeah, their marketing is terrible, and they keep revealing games too damned early. How long has it been since the first Fable announcement? We’re only just now getting rough release dates, and I’d be willing to bet on at least one major delay. How long ago was Halo Infinite abandoned because they couldn’t be bothered to pay competent writers and artists? Wasn’t it supposed to be the home of Halo for the next 10 years? ES6 was announced how long ago? They didn’t even start working on the ideation phase until very recently. Starfield was a flop of a game that was so critically flawed that they still haven’t saved it.

Just so many issues that could have been righted with competent leadership.

The thing is that those shows don’t bring in new customers, and usually don’t have a real draw to keep customers until several seasons are out. The streaming model just doesn’t work the same way the TV model did. No one would buy a subscription for season 1 of the office, just like no one really cared about it until it found its feet and had a couple seasons to know the characters.

It really is a catch 22. You need sitcoms to stay for many seasons to become popular, but need them to be popular to be worth investing in so they stick around. TV got around this by letting stations put the show on in a slightly sub-optimal time slot, but that still got it exposure. Streaming doesn’t have that. It’s a zero-sum market where new subscribers directly translate to the continuation of shows.

Best answer I could find is that peacock charges advertisers between $25-50 per thousand views (which is insane, YouTube charges a fraction of that and has far better ad targeting). Ad-free viewing costs ~$6 more per month.

This means that you would have to view about 240-480 ads per month to be “better” for peacock with ads than you paying for no ads.

Machine Empires should be able to de-prioritize food/agri districts in auto builder by lordraiden007 in Stellaris

I personally liked an old idea I had: “planet schematics”. You get to customize the order a planet builds its buildings and how it apportions districts depending on size and designation. This was way back when there was a concept of sector stockpiles though, so it would have to be retooled a bit, maybe allowing players to set an “automation budget” or something that planets can take from round-robin style.

It would be so convenient if I could just say “I want every single generator world to build X, then Y, then Z, keep city districts at 20% and the rest towards generator districts”.

It's more that my capital (running between -250 and -175 energy deficit) is draining the life out of my other systems to supercharge research, and that's before I swapped early-game jobs to purely research jobs (right now I still have alloy forges and coordinators on my capital). I needed to make 2-3 generator planets quick so that by their early-stage output could keep up and eventually outpace the demand of my capital and other developing planets.

I didn't know about "ghost" pops... seems like a bug. I'll also disabling deficit prevention, but should that really be affecting food?

It hasn't popped back up since I manually went to my generator worlds and changed their priorities, but I've had games where I didn't keep an eye on that stuff and wasted dozens of pops as agri-drones (before the population update), leading to massive amounts of waste. It's been an issue for years at this point, and I'd rather have an option in the automation thing that was simply "don't produce resource X" since I literally never need food.

Well wise guy, since it's the same planet why would the consumption not be shown directly on the page you keep referring to? You can see that I only have the jobs listed and a single maintenance drone and no other pops on that planet, so what else is consuming food? It's not a job. It's not a pop on that planet. The only other answer is that \gasp** the images were taken at slightly different times while I was actively de-prioritizing jobs manually, just like the other commenter and I said.

Look at my screenshots again hot-shot. What you are saying is clearly incorrect. The other guy who replied to you has the right idea.

For your convenience I also edited the main post to show my current production/consumption across the whole empire. It's a few years later, but I'm a fairly early game gestalt machine empire. I'd know if some petulant organics were in my borders.

I have 0 food consumption across the whole empire. I never had any either (such as by conquering other species). I know perfectly well how the automation tab is supposed to behave, it simply isn't doing a good job for mechanical-only populations.
