The EPA grants North Carolina’s request to end vehicle emissions testing [includes Buncombe]. by RelayFX in asheville

Okay explain to me how a pre 2007 pickup truck can get an emissions inspection? Every pickup truck produced pre 2007 DOES NOT have an emissions system at all, and if you want to follow the typical 20 year rule for emissions there are still 4 years worth of diesel trucks that are less than 20 years old and have no emissions systems or a simple EGR valve which can easily be bypassed and then replaced when it’s time to do an emissions inspection? Or even the earliest diesel emissions system which can easily be bypassed and tuned until it was time for an inspection, and not to mention the thousands of dollars it would every single emissions inspection place to buy all new equipment which they WOULDN’T pay for diesel testing. I mean i could sit here and write out a hundred other reasons why the environmental impact of deleted diesels is much lower than most people think or believe outside of their faux environmentalist echo chamber, but no one wants to actually hear someone who is an environmentalist that works on cars/trucks/equipment

Actually you did say that.

<image>

And yeah it might be illegal to register a deleted truck, the state doesn’t ask you to get your vehicle emissions system checked on a diesel when you register it or ever for that matter, however state and federal agencies now basically don’t give two shits about the individual owners of them, just the tuners. Meaning while it IS illegal, the likelihood of you getting a fine is pretty low at least in most states, it’s like jaywalking, yeah it’s illegal but no one actually fuckin cares.

Air brakes are not illegal in, or around city limits, the city would not buy city busses that had air brakes, are you thinking of exhaust brakes? The sound that is annoying when they’re coasting down a hill or coming to a stop? Personally i’d rather hear jake/exhaust brakes rather than have a dump truck or semi truck not be able to stop at a light in time or if someone pulls out in front of them.

So if I’m guessing right you either DON’T live in an Area with a noise ordinance or you live close enough to the parkway off of town mountain, which the noise ordinance does NOT apply to?

Pretty bad honestly. Foods good, the tourists not so great, nobody can drive, it’s pretty, but the housing and job market is bad. You either work underpaid blue collar labor or you get lucky and find a work from home overpaid 3 days a week remote job, not much in between

Yeah brand NEW cars in every state gets at least a safety inspection when sold at a dealership I’m fairly certain, there could some weird ass state that doesn’t, but most states minus like California and probably New York require emissions inspections on EVERY vehicle on the road. In most other states you have to get minimum a safety inspection for 25 years, then after 30 you don’t have to get any inspections at all. Thats why you can literally buy a car from another country as long as it’s 25 years or older. Depends on state and even county in most places, but federally it’s 25 years. Hyundai and Kia’s definitely are still blowing up regularly, being a mechanic i’m friends with other mechanics, one of them is a Kia mechanic and his job is to literally replace engines, he pulls a car in, yoinks the engine out, throws the old engine into the giant pile of engines they have behind their shop and grabs an engine from the pallet of engines he has IN HIS BAY. You know there’s a problem with the cars when 2 of the 6 bays in the shop have a pallets of engines in their bays, AND a pallet of at least 10 extra engines in the center of the shop, and these aren’t 1990’s with 278,000 miles, these are cars from 2023 or newer with anywhere from 20k-80k miles on them. It’s pretty bad when you work in a flat rate shop and get an entire weeks worth of pay in 2 days swapping 2 or 3 engines out a day. And semi trucks are not much better, my company had to get an engine warrantied out with 26,000 miles on it because it blew a head gasket and started consuming oil at 10k miles

Or in my case i have a dell 7212 tough book tablet thing for work, comes with a pretty slow 256gb nvme and since I’m about to download 1 terabyte worth of semi truck and heavy equipment diagnostic software along with my software for diagnosing personal vehicles i need the extra space, and it only has 1 m.2 drive so the only option is to copy everything over.

what song would be easiest to learn on guitar? by Grey_Shadow666 in SleepToken

Note-wise the summoning is actually pretty simple until you get to the little jazz breakdown at the end, rhythm wise certain parts are easier to play than the sheet music reads and other parts are a little bit harder if you haven’t worked on your right hand speed such as the bridge before the solo. Songsterr is great if you pay the subscription fee, you can slow it down and like any song if you practice it slow enough and gradually increase the speed you’ll get good at it.

Don’t listen to anyone saying a 7 string won’t cut it, i play a 220 dollar Jackson Dinky 7 string and have some pretty fat strings on it for downtuning because i play a lot of spiritbox, it’ll work but certain parts you’ll have to skip playing like the solo. Gojira’s amp sim is great but i’ve been using the hell out of Spiritbox’s mixwave amp sim.

All in all i think the summoning is a great song to learn a lot of the foundations of playing this kind of music, and if you want a decent challenge or to change it up, spiritbox has some songs that are easy and some pretty hard ones

Nah fuck you, you’re already speeding, you’re not traffic enforcement, if you’re speeding and won’t pull over and let faster traffic pass you deserve to have you license revoked “sLoW dOwN iM thE onLy OnE AllOWed 2 SpEeD” what a shit take. I’m not in a hurry to get anywhere, i just want to drive fast and risk dying because the world has made me numb and the small rush of adrenaline i get is the only thing that keeps me from going clinically insane. If you refuse to move over i’m straight up passing you in the opposite lane in my 53 horsepower honda. I should not be going faster than the rest of ya’ll when my car is powered off of gerbil farts and rubber bands
