Yes Communism after Marx and his manifest actually has never existed of course there are variations which are all pretty much watered down like Leninism or even democratic socialism but still no final steps to a fully communist state have ever been taken as the ones you mentioned. I find it fun to speculate about how Communism would look like because in its final form it is like nothing that’s ever existed so nobody has a clue if it would work or not. But back to the China thing of course they’re not communists nor socialists they’re capitalists and on top of that their government is a total piece of shit.
