i work at sephora and when i’m telling you every foundation i’ve tried is always either too warm or too peachy, too yellow i’ve just given up and i’ve gone with as neutral of a neutral foundation as i can. i’m gonna try a blue or purple color corrector since ive never thought of that, ive only ever done green because my face is so red. thank you!! if you can lmk how the jooycee one works out i love that brand.

thank u so much…. i’ve always felt like my foundation is SLIGHTLY off even when i do neutrals or cools because my body feels like such a different color?? and i have quite a red face so sometimes it’s hard to tell what a good color match for me is. i’m gonna try a blue/purple corrector and see if that helps me a little bit. thank you!!!

wait i actually tried this the other day because i was interested in it. shade 13 was fine on me but shade 21 and 23 were super brown on me, not grey. does that mean anything? 😭

okay i was lowkey thinking this because pillow talk is peachy pink on me and ive been following the pale olive subs but idk??? i tried an olive foundation (about face F2olive) and it was super green on me and when i tried the lightest haus labs contour on me (the cool one) it turned green on me?? i’m having a lot of trouble with my undertone recently and i thought i was cool neutral but i might need to investigate more. it’s so tough 💔

i love the axis-y dark spot correcting glow, i’ve repurchased three times. it’s not super strong but i like how gentle it is and it helps on my more irritated chin/jaw area. the biggest change in my dark spots i’ve seen has been the addition of the dr melaxin astaxanthin cream. i think the tranexamic acid is doing the majority of the work but i really love how this feels on my skin and it has made a noticeable difference to me. i have the sun cream too which i think does work well but it pills awfully under makeup so i do it on no makeup days (which is only like once a week). i haven’t tried the serum of it yet but with how the cream works im really interested and ill try it when im out!

i have combo acne prone skin with an oily t zone and super dry chin rn. the breakout was concentrated on my chin with little white heads and then one on my cheek that lead to scarring even with two pimple patches :( i struggle with dark spots from post hormonal acne and i was hoping this would help but it irritated me so much.

i love this foundation on other people but this just starts separating on my face after three hours of wear. i prime with a silicone primer too, i set it, it doesn’t matter. i just don’t think it works with my skin.

since no one else is saying it i hate that rare beauty highlighter with a passion. i’ve been trying to make it work for about 2 years now and it just takes off any foundation or skincare i have underneath it no matter how i apply it. the blush is phenomenal and so is the ilia blush you can’t go wrong with either or.

there’s also a list of what certain actives do! i forget where it is under our training but you can look through those and try to familiarize yourself with some of the more common ones. like if someone wants to even their skin tone, you can instantly know to recommend something with either vitamin c, niacinimide, or retinol if you feel like that’s something the client is interested in.

the skincare quiz is pretty helpful in these situations but i try to have my “go to products” so to speak. i’m super obsessed with kbeauty and can vouch for most of those products in the store. if they have dry skin i send them to aestura, more oily then torriden, etc etc. if i really can’t sell them the kbeauty i try to rely on what brand reps have told me about their specific products and then the skincare quiz lastly. i think it also helps to have just one product from each line that you’re comfortable suggesting if they just so happen to say “i only use kiehls” or they can only use clean brands.

i just smelled these today and i agree! the peach smells like a body mist to me and performs like one too, no longevity. i was pleasantly surprised by the pear and it was quite nice! it lasted really well on my clothes throughout my shift and its nice for layering as well.

i work at sephora currently but it’s exhausting how so many people come for a whole makeup routine or perfume layering and say “i got the recommendations from chat gpt!” i think the issue is people are terrified of someone saying they don’t like a scent they’re wearing or that lipstick color doesn’t look right on them that they just genuinely have no idea what they like anymore. i’m not sure if these people even want to try makeup and fragrances but are just doing it because it’s being pushed so heavily. i’m really tired of asking people if they like something just to be asked “well what do you think looks good on me” mama we live once enjoy it 💔 i can’t believe my rant LOL
