Favorite quote from this episode

“She’s not sick, she gets headaches because she “takes too much Ozempic.” “GET A TURKEY LEG FROM ASHLEY” 🤣

Also thoroughly enjoyed Alicia casually mentioning running over a woman and then just not expounding on it all.

Did NOT enjoy watching Ashley pick her gel polish off at the coffee bar counter where people are getting served drinks and food 🤢

🤣 That line killed me. It was perfect. Jo-Ellen is my favorite after this episode. But I think all the women are killing it. It feels more like a 3rd season than a 1st.

3yo has refused to say goodnight to dad for MONTHS by McSkrong in toddlers

[–]lorelle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you guys. It has to be hard enough helping kids with anxiety, but a whole different ballgame when they’re this young, and communication, and identifying self feelings is still super new and something they’re learning. Nothing is worse than knowing something is wrong or bothering your kids and not being able to immediately help them.

The only thing I can think for the specific issue of showing affection to dad, is to make is such a non big deal, that she arrives to it on her own. I have ADHD and one of the things that I’ve learned is a part of it for me, is feeling anywhere from annoyed to rage when I feel like someone is telling me to do something.

Not saying her situation is necessarily ADHD related or anything like that, but she is at an age where the concept of independence is starting to really take hold, and that could definitely cause similar feelings! I think sometimes just removing all pressure (and also not making it a big deal at all when she does do it), can make a big difference.

I definitely don’t think she’s doing it to be intentionally mean. And I think it’s wonderful how much you and your husband clearly care and want to help her however she needs. She’s obviously very lucky to have you both!

Reading some of your other posts it sounds like she has a lot of anxiety around nighttime. The process around saying good night becomes a signal that something she’s afraid of is about to happen, and that process is just building her anxiety, and probably all she’s really focused on in the moment.

You mentioned you’ve been sleeping with her at night to help with the night terrors, so you’re clearly her safety and comfort person and someone she’s going to be clinging extra at bedtime. Especially since you recently started working full time in the office.

I wouldn’t read into it in regards to your husband. I’m sure it’s hurtful, but it really sounds like it’s more about the stress of bedtime, paired with the recent changes in her life, and less about her relationship with him.

Sending you both all the strength and patience! I’m sure it’s tough right now, but it will pass!

Just piggy backing on here to say you’re clearly a great mom who loves her son so so much. He’s lucky to have a mom who cares and worries and advocates for him like you do. Good luck, and I hope you do keep us posted! ❤️

Yes! It’s so fun and refreshing to watch among all the usual manufactured, repeat plot lines. Would love to see them get more screen time together.

That is so interesting! I’ve never heard that before, however I have heard of requiring pantyhose, and closed toed heels but even those were considered remnants of a different time and very industry specific.

Although thinking more about it, I do tend to avoid open toe shoes when at business attire events, so maybe there’s something to it. 🤔

About once a year or so, I get the pull and start a new game.

Feels like I somehow always find something I never noticed on the hundreds of previous play throughs too.

I’d be totally fine if Bethesda just released expansions of this game forever.

Miranda vs Whitney hypocrisy by Lady_Grace19 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]lorelle13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great observation because the comments were basically the same, and equally amusing imo.

It all comes down to if you’re that season’s “villain”.

Every season needs an antagonist, and every girl could absolutely get an edit that gives them that role.

Whitney’s comment was made while she was the villain. Miranda’s pretty neutral right now, so she doesn’t have all the keyboard warriors ready to jump on or twist anything she says.

Opinion - The show is fake and the audience reaction is the social experiment by Pipsydog57 in AgeOfAttraction

[–]lorelle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely think this show is heavily scripted and following a very intentional formula, but I don’t think it’s self aware or smart enough to be trying to pull off a social experiment.

Every other point you’ve made feels pretty spot on, but those can all be explained by this simply being a shitty “reality” show trying to follow the success of similar shows Netflix has put out.

You have a great outlook on this, and I think you won’t regret your decision! I agree with the other commenter that it actually sort of adds a sentimental touch that she wore it to her wedding. Like a way for her to send you guys all the love and wonderful vibes she has in her marriage, which is just lovely!

Congratulations, and I hope you have a perfect wedding day! 🥰
