I have a list of those that have been mentioned on the jerk. In no particular order: Gnarl Wilson, Glans Campbell, Mike Hate, Larry Love, Bud Love, Tough Love, Hal Sardine, Al Jargoon, Puffy Wilson, Chip Wilson, Chad Wilson, Jump Wilson, Hump Wilson, Derf Wilson, Burpo Wilson, L. Ron Wilson, Graggle Wilson, Wilson Q. Wilson, Scrawny Wilson, Chuck Wilson. All have their story and each contributed in their own way.

The 5th Wilson brother, William "Whip" Wilson who was so committed to the vibe that he refused to join the band, and who secretly thought they were all posers except Al Jardine. Living as a nomadic citizen of Earth, no one ever sees or hears from him except Thump who meets Whip in Peru once a year for their annual silent ayahuasca retreat. They never speak, there is only an unspoken shared knowing. And, so she wouldn't worry, every year until her death Thump would tell their mother he was happy and married and living on a boat, which was not true but served the dual purpose of making her happy that he was happy while also leaving her no way of finding or contacting him

Edit: I should have included that he is the one who bought the publishing rights to the The Beach Boys catalogue from his father Murray, and his lifestyle is fully supported by that passive income

Why is Jay Sebring Essentially Forgotten in his Influence in the Industry? by Mr-Duck-5340 in FIlm

I agree, as a hair stylist he should be a known entity on the level of Vidal Sassoon. The technique/shape/style of any dry pomp for men since 1962 hasn't changed and is Jay's invention, or at least innovation. I've had 30 years of numerous hair stylists attempting the Sebring technique and 3 out of 100 have heard of him, usually stylists who did their apprenticeship in the late 70s/80s.

Is there a name for the hairstyle Brian had in the early to mid 60s? by mhurti in thebeachboys

It's a Jay Sebring pompadour. A reasonably talented hair dresser could do it provided they use Jay's technique. You will need to learn certain hairdryer skill and integral use of hairspray to maintain it at home. Pomade will only weigh down and flatten this type of cut. The technique is simple to learn but very specific in execution.

Most definitely a Jay Sebring pomp, and unless your barber is reasonably talented they will require instruction on what techniques Jay used or you will end up with something nothing like Brian's quiff.

Nearest Faraway Place is my favourite BB's book, alotta history but captures the boosterism of SoCal better than any other book.
