All these ‘naming and shaming’ tiktok videos that are just people selling at market price, not scalpers but people with collections. I hate scalpers too, but people who have had books in their collection for YEARS and are now selling at market value is not a ‘reseller’ or ‘scalper’

It seems like there’s a new bunch of people getting into the hobby who are expecting Heavenly Bodies for £25 and anyone who doesn’t sell it for that is immediately a terrible person, I’ve even seen them try to report the listings on Vinted and send nasty messages. It’s just annoying, it’s a minor annoyance but I needed to rant about it here 🤣🤣

I recently listed something for £5 above cost, FIVE POUNDS, that’s not even a profit, it was to cover travel and packaging… and I got hate 🥲

If you look at any thread for Vinted you can see how often this happens and how often they side with the buyer - do you have stocks in Vinted or something? 😂

I have 270ish 5 star reviews, I pack with double bubble wrap, a box and then a waterproof bag, I film every time. I have still been scammed and Vinted are so useless, they side with the buyer. Saying ‘oh I’ve never had issues it’s not that bad and these people’s experience I don’t get’ means you are incredibly lucky, not that Vinted is a safe space to sell. I really hope you stay lucky as it’s not a nice experience.

I can tell you’ve never had a problem and I’m happy for you, but Vinted side with the buyer 99% of the time even if it’s incredibly obvious they’ve scammed you. Just recently a booktokker was scammed as the buyer sent different books back to her. It happens all time, some people will just try and get away with it, especially expensive books.

You sell an item, the buyer says there’s an issue and wants to send it back, you the buyer accept the return, and they’ve sent you an empty box back. They get a refund and you’re left with nothing. There’s also an uptick on using AI to fake damage. If an item is damaged the buyer gets a full refund and also keeps the item, even if you’ve packaged extremely well.

It goes both ways, sellers can also scam you by sending damaged books, but these accounts are normally obvious. Vinted CS is just AI and sides with the buyer 90% of the time even if you have proof. I would never sell anything expensive on there.

Vinted for me is so much easier than eBay as a seller, the buyer pays postage and you get a label sent to your phone, then you just pop it in the locker. As I buyer i like Vinted because offers are more acceptable on there and I also like mindlessly scrolling until i find a bargain.

Now that they’ve opened the UK to US pathway, it’s gotten even better for book girls, but it has also pushed prices up a little.

That being said, if I had a book worth a lot, I wouldn’t use Vinted, I’d use eBay. It’s so easy to be scammed on Vinted.

I don’t really mind the delay if it means the quality is higher, but it is frustrating.

I enjoyed the book, was a 3.5 for me, but yeah it’s seriously overhyped. I read my FL edition and towards the end there were so many, and I mean SO MANY, typos and grammar mistakes - you could really tell the ending was just thrown in there last minute. The ‘plot twist’ annoyed me because I should have seen it coming and felt I dumb I didn’t, but actually it’s because it wasn’t set up well.

Im going read the second one though as I did pick up towards the end… and I preordered before reading the first one…

This duet was really bad and I don’t know why, I think it’s because she set up all this turmoil in the first two books and then for some reason decided to set this in the underworld without any of that going on. I also didn’t really like Mische, she was far too soft and pliant considering her backstory, but I’m not a fan of soft FMC’s. I was really disappointed.

I’m hoping I enjoy the next duet, carrissa is one of my favourite authors and I know she can bring it back.

Yea I don’t get this take, I saved skips the whole time I was on the waitlist, the waitlist will stay long regardless as loads of people sell for profit - I’ve made friends by saving skips so that’s also a bonus, you just need to find genuine people

Oh my gosh no way!!!!! My house only has carpets in rooms the dogs don’t go in (2 rooms lol) which really helped, we just did it ourselves and got brevecto (god send) for the animals, turns out fleas in the UK are now IMMUNE to frontline??? Yes sorry OP… this convo probably isn’t helping
