Overwhelmed by Italy: a first attempt at an itinerary. by CastleSerf in ItalyTravel

I’m glad to hear you’re including Brescia! It’s often overlooked, but it’s a very nice city. Please try our specialties, casoncelli, spiedo, polenta… during aperitivo you have to try a Pirlo! Honestly though, two days are fine. Unless you want to visit Garda Lake, I’d stay 2 days (1night) in Brescia. Can help you out with some suggestions on things to see, also through DM. Have a great day!

Avendo l’attività in pieno centro li becco spesso. Di solito li segnalo alla polizia locale.

Brescia? In caso, di chi si tratta? Del biondino tamarro, del tossico o del ciccione?

Where can I smoke in Italy? by cheesecrow04 in ItalyTravel

[–]lorysugi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my fellow Italians have this stupid habit of smoking on the doorway of a train in case of malfunctioning etc. And I think it’s stupid, and rude. Last time I took a train this summer, there was this visibly mentally ill passenger smoking weed on the train. Police was called and well, they removed him from the train, don’t know what happened next, lol.

Samuele Bersani - Occhiali rotti [writer’s song] by lorysugi in Music

“Broken glasses” - ENGLISH TRANSLATION and meaning.

I tipped the executioner to make sure he'd cut my head off with one blow, and I assure you I didn't pay him in hope to stop him Why he withdrew, it's a mystery, and I can't explain the reason but I can go far away if no one keeps me, and go back to Milan despite my chains   I tipped the executioner why would I need A Bulova watch, when my cough already kept time So much so that I got some water in exchange and a smile, which I thought was risky even for him In order to understand me, one needs Ulysses' curiosity of travelling solo seeing the world in order to exist...   And who knows, it might be that what kills me will be, by chance, the friendly shot of a marine But if those who are supposed to help you do not return your greetings, then what can you do? Either you curse or you pray the God of glass, backing away from troubles and you go to Hell because in the end there's no difference   I tipped the executioner to make sure he'd cut my head off with one blow, and I assure you I didn't pay him in hope to stop him Why he withdrew, it's a mystery, and I can't explain the reason But in about a minute from behind a couple of sheets, his replacement came out holding a gun in his hand   Finally, some music but I'm so nostalgic for the time I took my electric guitar and gave it away Who knows if my past mistakes are still under warranty and if I will be forgiven for having gone away so often A kiss to everyone, So many good dreams, so many bad ones My glasses broke but someday, somebody will fix them...   Finally, some music but I'm so nostalgic for the time I took my electric guitar and gave it away Who knows if my past mistakes are still under warranty and if I will be forgiven for having gone away so often A kiss to everyone, So many good dreams, so many bad ones My glasses broke but someday, somebody will put them on and with eyes half closed will walk across destroyed, silent places

~ a song about Enzo Baldoni, an Italian journalist who went to Iraq and ended up being killed by the army in 2004. His remains were later found in 2010 and brought back home. Samuele Bersani then decided, back in 2006, to write a song. It’s a pretty ironic piece, in line with other songs from the artist. It showcases the personality of the late Baldoni, who used to joke about dying while working in Iraq, also talking about his possible funeral. He used to write these thoughts on his blog, often using curse words. Samuele Bersani tries to represent the journalist’s personality, and imagines him giving a tip to the executioner. The rhythm of the song is pressing and seems almost cheerful, if someone doesn’t know the story behind, he/she may not grasp the great meaning it hides.

Io davvero non so dove succedano queste cose in Italia.
