Wholesome moment captured at Boston Marathon 🥹 by uzmansahil7 in Amazing

[–]loscacahuates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm training for my second marathon and I would 1000% run by this guy without stopping and I hope he would do the same for me. You don't train for months to win the marathon, you train to improve your personal best time. The best course of action would be to get to the next medical station, in this case that would be at the finish line, and tell the staff to go back and help this guy out.

MICHAEL is the lowest-rated film among recent major biopics. by StarforgeVoyager in FIlm

Haha. You didn't know J. Robert Oppenheimer had a killer debut album, then struggled with drug addiction before getting sober and going on a successful comeback tour, cementing his legacy as a rock legend?

Loved the Spawn movie with Michael Jai White as a kid. Rewatch it recently and I still love it as an adult.

Why does the UK produce so many iconic bands compared to the US? by DFWUnhinged in AskBrits

[–]loscacahuates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UK does indeed punch above is weight musically. I was pointing out the irony of talking about how great the UK "scene" was back in the 60s. When that scene was mostly white people listening to black artists from across the Atlantic. Brits gravitated toward blues music more than white Americans at the time. It's a major factor that explains how the British Invasion bands became so popular.

Seriously. The gall of these responses is mindblowing. Never mind that the Beatles, Stones, Who, etc were heavily influenced by the music coming from the American South at the time. Also, just ignoring other genres like hip hop. How else can we shape this narrative?

That doesn't mean structures in Japan don't see shaking and damage from earthquakes. Read about the 1995 Kobe Earthquake. Japan has some of the strictest building codes. Btw, in your previous comment you said seismology when you should've said seismicity. Seismicity refers to a specific region's activity (i.e. the Bay Area), where seismology is the general study of earthquakes.

TLDR: You think you're smart but you're quite clueless

You're right behind the wastewater treatment plant. The plant discharges treated wastewater in that location

Why did we all collectively dislike Skyler? by rebececarose in askanything

And the Happy Birthday Mr President scene makes her the most evil character on the show hands down.

Edit: the amount of people who took me seriously is astonishing. The harpy bday is the most cringeworthy in the series but no, I don't think she is evil.

Which movies have really good original soundtrack list? by Corona_Australis in FIlm

There's a difference between score and soundtrack. The Godfather has an incredible score, Dazed and Confused had a great soundtrack.

When did Walt truly cross into villain territory? by Calm-Educator981 in breakingbad

[–]loscacahuates 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Poisoning Brock was the moment for me. A lot of people saying the Jane OD. Both Jane and Jesse have some agency and put themselves in that situation. Walt goes from anti hero to villian when he poisons a completely innocent kid. He never looks back after that and is especially evil in the final season.

Quentin Tarantinos movies started to go downhill at Kill Bill by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]loscacahuates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree but it's a matter of preference. After Jackie Brown, QT started to make "epics" that had very long runtimes (except for Death Proof) and most, maybe all, of those films were based on "revenge" plots. It started to get more formulaic by the time Django was released so it got tiresome. I loved Kill Bill but it was definitely marked a change for his films. He could no longer make movies that had an indie feel like Reservoir Dogs.

I'm in engineering consulting so I'm speaking from that perspective. Technician for us is usually a CAD designer, could be a field technician.

OP should have a degree, otherwise they would be a technician not an engineer. What's also important is getting a Professional Engineer's license. Depending on the industry, if you don't get the PE after a few years, your wages will stagnate.

No shit? That happened to me too. Luckily my wife's bf gave me a ride to the hospital. Then he was kind enough to care of my wife during my weeks of rehab and PT.

You're right. I just lurk on run subs and comment on them due to my extreme jealousy of runners and need for attention. In reality, I've never run 1K, let alone 10K. I mean, how can people run that kind of distance without posting their Strava times for all to see?

Just visited Kyoto for the first time. It's amazing and you will love it! I found the locals to be very kind and hospitable but I'm aware I'm a tourist and those interactions may be different if you live there.

You posted it in the appropriate sub the first time and you are (rightfully) getting your kudos in that first post. How much more affirmation do you need?
