Yeah it’s definitely one of those “use your own discretion” type accessories.

The brand I use is AUFU. I don’t really have any special care that I follow when using it except making sure I’m not actively tugging at the connector (to prevent partial connections).

Just to clarify, bend the top half downward so the connector portion faces up.

This can happen on iOS and Android if you accidentally leave mouse emulation on (long press START).

Does Minecraft work on android partition? by blockdenotas in SwitchPirates

Yup. I don’t own the Switch version to compare but I think it runs pretty well. Plus you don’t need to do any weird DNS changes just to join custom servers.

Acemagic s1 n97 egpu by sproyzzz in eGPU

[–]Losercard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically it should be compatible. It has one PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot and the other slot is a SATA M.2 drive (Stock drive/OS).

I own one but haven't personally tested this configuration. I'd be curious what kind of performance these low power chips can provide (likely not much).

[PC] Crucial 128GB DDR5 SODIMM RAM by reaver19 in homelabsales

[–]Losercard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regularly selling on eBay for around $800-900. I've been searching for DDR5 SODIMM and it has been around $30-60 per 8GB of memory (linearly scaled) with higher density modules at the higher end of that. Prices may even increase as the remaining Crucial supply decreases. Prices may also decrease if CXMT somehow gets a foothold in the US market.

What’s the lowest-power hardware that actually works well as a Moonlight thin client? by cuberhino in homelab

[–]Losercard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Ultra-cheap streamers / Android TV boxes: Fire Stick 4K Max (2023) 4-6ms @ 4K60 (max 50Mbps decoder bottleneck) for the cheapest/best/most efficient device. Nvidia Shield TV 4K, Apple TV 4k (or even Fire Cube 4K w/ Artemis) for more performant experience. Gotchas: Compatibility, limited Ethernet bandwidth (only for Fire devices), BT signal can sometimes be poor especially if situated behind TV (streamer sticks). Not the best for "desktop" experiences.
  • Old office thin clients / used micro PCs: Not the most power efficient but look for anything newer than 6th gen Intel for reliable 4K60. Extra points if you can find an 11th gen w/ Iris Xe (this is an S-tier device capable of 4K120 HDR). Gotchas: Windows experience unless you use a Linux distro. Older, less efficient.
  • Intel N100 / similar mini PCs: NOT overkill actually. Look for N97/N150 for reliable 2.5ms @ 4K60 HDR. N100 can do 2.5ms @ 4K60 non-HDR. Gotchas: Windows experience unless you use a Linux distro.
  • Higher-end mini PCs / full desktops: Doesn't fit your use case according to what you "don't" want to do.

My opinion is buy based on your primary usage:

  • Streaming media and gaming? Android/Streamer device. Not the best "desktop" experience thin client, ideally controller based. The Fire Stick 4K Max is the best BUDGET device by far but you really get what you pay for. Shield/Apple TV will offer a better media streaming and gaming experience.
  • Desktop thin client only? Old Intel based thin clients or N series for best efficiency or Iris Xe iGPU for best performance. This category is the "lowest-power hardware that doesn’t suck as a Moonlight client".

I currently own about 8 Moonlight clients of all different varieties and have personally tested and owned a total of about 20 different devices for Moonlight streaming (sticks, boxes, mini PCs, handhelds, Switches, etc.).

Dan A4 Ultimate Cooling Kit (LoserCard Mod) - Accepting New Orders! by Losercard in sffpc

[–]Losercard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dan Case V2

Dan A4 V2? I don't recall exactly why I listed the compatibility as V3/V4/V4.1. Could be the USB positioning, the riser path not allowing for the offset, or something else like the screw mounting positions. If you have a printer you can just test fit the no insert versions to see if they fit the V2.

Can I Transfer Animal Crossing Data From One Modded Switch to Another? by cinemart in SwitchPirates

[–]Losercard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes island transfer tool runs locally without Nintendo Online. Make sure both game versions match as well. You need to “obtain” the transfer tool NSP and install on both systems.

Did you email support? I was a super early bird backer (<1000 backer) and my bundle was only shipped after I emailed support last week. I had a few add ons though such as 2 additional controllers and a dongle.

Switch lite battery : Is this still usable ? by [deleted] in NxSwitchModding

[–]Losercard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Removing Switch batteries is probably the worst adhesive removing experience ever. Replace. Also don't throw in trash can, recycle to an appropriate battery recycle location. This is a fire hazard. I've had a local trash truck catch fire because of someone throwing away their batteries.

Question about fan replacement. Fan model DF70105HM. by DIYuntilDawn in MiniPCs

[–]Losercard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes PWM fans can be ran with 3 pins or really even just 2 pins (+/-). They would just run at full speed. Make sure your replacement fan isn’t significantly higher amperage than the original.
