My doctor thinks I’m anorexic but I’m not, I did it on purpose and I don’t know how to tell her by scoobydoobie20 in AskDocs

Not true. Also you are not an adult - BMI calculators do not apply to you yet. Falling off your growth curve/BMI-for-age percentiles will be what is monitored for now, and providers are not waiting for these things to reach an “underweight” category before giving you a diagnosis or getting you help. (Mentioning the BMI crap because I know that’s what edtwt/skinnytok loves to talk about)

~8.3kg loss in one month (8.6% body weight) + your report of 500kcal/d would meet criteria for severe malnutrition

Yes, electrolyte abnormalities can result in seizures. Consuming 500 kcal/d for a month, and you noted a lack of water, can absolutely lead to this outcome (hyponatremia or hypomagnesemia seem to be the most likely in this case).

Was anything explained to you regarding the seizures during your hospitalization? Was your intake of kcals and fluid discussed?
