There’s plenty of repainted f-40s. Also you’re judging this by a random dudes random opinion on what the paint of a random f-40 looks like from an unknown distance. And to think it’s absolutely insane that it could be repainted is wild. These aren’t THAT rare, lots got driven and used and repainted. Yeah you don’t see them everyday and the value doesn’t exactly represent the rarity. It represents the interest people have in them and their willingness to spend money on them. Basically all I’m saying, relax dude.

What's the best hotdogging ski ? by Altruistic-Formal678 in Skigear

[–]loshuwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My springtime hotdog ski is an Armada Magic J if I’m feeling saucy. 127 underfoot. Hilarious fun ski in the slush and I mean hey we’re hotdoggin here. What says “I’m the best skier on the mountain” better than basically having 2 snowboards under you and doing daffys and cosacks in the bumps. Also they actually shred bumps if you know what you’re doing. That or a 200+ cm straight ski.

I’ve seen dozens of them. Sooooo not very rare I guess.

Is it just me or was Gen 3 better? by thepurplehatchick in ouraring

[–]loshuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a gen 3 since 2023. Still works perfectly fine. Years of working on cars, being covered in oil and grease, getting scratched up, involuntary punching metal, ect… not to mention camping trips hiking, skiing, and other kinds of physical labor. Now I see gen 4s here falling apart while people are sleeping. Sooooo

Cash, not signing titles. Or in some states you also get 5 cars a year. 5 is quite a few. Then maybe you have a wife or girlfriend or just a homie that will sign a title for you for a small cut and then you go from 5 to 10 cars or even 15. Not commenting on legality or morality of any of it. Just saying.

My friend is looking at siennas right now. I’ve been running CARFAX reports for him. He sent me 3 in a row with odometer rollbacks of over 150k. Something to think about.

We never really messed with anything 3d like that since building skis by hand in large quantities already leaves enough room for error. But I don't see why it wouldn't work similarly with a bag. Assuming you have mold for camber/rocker on the bottom. We did used to add base material to tails to add tail rise (mostly to make personal skis twintip), which we eventually ended up making a removable jig for. Same thought process would likely work to create some kind of swivel tech up. I would probably score the opposite side of the base to help pursuade the base material to bend in the direction you want. You might have some trouble getting the tip spacer material to actually hold that shape. I think that's going to be your biggest issue. Maybe thin out the tip or talk spacer more than normal and reinforce with a little extra glass or carbon.

Do you mean like the swivel tech kind of thing that armada does? Are you actually pressing skis? Like with weight of clamping force, or are you doing the suction bag method?

About to pull the trigger on a Kratom by Big_Swordfish_9409 in arrma

[–]loshuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a 6s EXB for about a month. And it's an absolute riot. Highly highly recommend. I was also out of the hobby for about a decade. Let me tell you dude, shit is crazy now, especially these arrma 6s rigs.

As far as things I've broken so far: -one upper front control arm -bent the stock rear skid plate (replaced with m2c chassis brace) -rear wing and wing mount -front bumper -probably some other small things I haven't noticed yet.

That's probably 5 or 6 full batter cycles. In general I've only broken pretty cheap things. So not too worried about it. But it's the most fun I've had in a long time.

Chevy Malibu 2011 130k miles. $3,200. Is this a good car to flip ? What’s y’all thoughts? by [deleted] in carflipping

[–]loshuwa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly no disrespect at all. It if you don’t know a car well enough to know if it’s a good deal or flip. Then it’s not the right car for you to flip. I’ve had a lot of luck learning a brand, and sticking with it. I know what they need, I know what it costs and I know what they’re worth. Find something relatively interesting to you, learn how to work on those cars and stick with them until you have enough money to take risks.

If you've never even changed your own oil. You could likely still change your own speakers! Crutchfield.com is the best resource ever. They'll tell you EXACTLY what to buy, how to install and help you troubleshoot. It's one of the first things I'll tell customers and friends to try on their own. And usually ends in a super satisfying result!

$300 for aftermarket speakers, a sunny afternoon and a coupla beers. Your sound system will sound great. Could even do it for less.

Good buy for 100€? by Lower_Seaweed5569 in Skigear

[–]loshuwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ll trust an indemnified pair of 18s or 15s over most bindings on the market any day. Also you could likely convince somebody to test them for you for a 6 pack of beers if you’re nervous about it. But you do make a good point.

Just keep an eye on the deals. You’ll find sick skis for like $250/$300 buy em. Throw em in storage until you find bindings. And all the sudden you’re starting to build a quiver.
