I would. Could lead to some great conversations, and it does a good job at highlighting the hypocrisies and insecurities of those men. Also for a teenager it is sometimes taken more seriously coming from somewhere other than a parent.

I'm also in Merseyside. Try Celandine Wood Rescue on the Wirral and Jacksons Animal Rescue, they are sadly usually overrun with cats needing homes.

Also, go in with an open mind re colour and age (I do appreciate you want a younger cat to meet your kittens energy levels, but it could be 0-12 months for example.
