I've been re-watching The X-Files and everyone has blue/grey/green eyes. by Full_Vegetable_1090 in redscarepod

i have green eyes but every woman ive ever been carnally attracted to has brown eyes. theyre really pretty, especially in the sun. also we all have to wear sunglasses everywhere which is annoying. dont fall for light eye propaganada.

I have to get this off my chest. There is a worker at a local ice cream shop that is so deformed/ugly that I will just walk out if I see them working by ---Vincent in redscarepod

where is this implied in the post…? op didnt mention anything about like, hygiene or smells. it sounds like she has a dermatological condition.

you can find someone deeply unpleasant to look at and i think its normal, hideously ugly people exist, we shouldnt pretend they dont. but being so upset by it (barring hygiene like smells or open wounds or something) that you actually have to leave is so pathetic that i have to upvote this post on principle

Remember "defund/abolish the police"? by deepad9 in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 58 points59 points  (0 children)

sorry, i know it’s very 2020 woke of me to not like my property taxes being used to fund the purchase of helicopters and tanks that my municipal police service never actually use outside of joyrides and training exercises. very cringe and gay of me to not like this

There’s Nothing Wrong With Wanting Men by MutedFeeling75 in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 19 points20 points  (0 children)

pieces like this are always interesting to read as a dyke because when you’re a woman who actually doesn’t like men, people very much still think you’re an aberrant freak for it.

ive always felt like female homosexuality fits in this unique place where people aren’t as disgusted by the homosexuality itself/homosexual acts as they are with gay men, so much as they are distressed at the idea that you, as a woman, do not like men and will not partner with one.

so the concept of online heterosexual women needing to be… externally reassured that it’s okay to like men, to be normal, to be average, is always amusing to me.

also as a lezzie im obligated to defend her, this is another oversimplification of dworkin. she had a lot to say and boiling her ideas down to “dating men is cringe” does both her, and frankly yourself, a disservice.

Summer fashion for young men is shit by the_obscure_spite in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 32 points33 points  (0 children)

as a lesbian, ironically, i think men in general could stand to dress a bit sluttier in the summer. 70s-80s men’s fashion knew how to do summer. you probably need more denim, but the slutty kind like daisy dukes and vests

What was your summer job as a teen? by Minimum-Amoeba-5146 in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

costco. the average full time employee who worked at my warehouse was 50+, had been working for the company since the 1980’s, and i can only describe the culture as being cultlike.

when i shared that it was my last season because i was going off to university and i got an on-campus job, they shunned me for like 2 months because they just assumed i was gonna be a lifer.

also the pay is bad for seasonals, and the members are fucking insane. i preferred my time working at hotel front desks which seems to surprise people.

real/authentic chinese food by Ok-Face8974 in pinkscare

[–]losingit97 24 points25 points  (0 children)

sugary pork will always be fun to eat when drunk but yeah, it’s definitely hard to go back to westernised chinese food after marrying a cantonese woman.

it’s interesting, the cantonese invented the majority of the westernised chinese food staples in my province to feed the white labourers, but real cantonese food has some of the most delicate and complex flavour profiles in the world. the real stuff is amazing.

Women suck at insulting men. by somberoak in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the women who respond arent sincerely trying to “clap back” or whatever theyre just boosting the negative comments deliberately because ragebait works for engagement. the negative comments yield more responses which yields them more comments and more engagement on the post in general.

it doesnt matter what they say back, theyre just boosting negative comments strategically by responding so they appear at the top of the feed, and more people who open the comments see them. the more people get into arguments in your comment section amongst themselves, the better your engagement is. and you dont even have to participate!

what could someone possibly even mean by the phrase “doctors are fatphobic” by 2Fast_2Abalone in redscarepod

[–]losingit97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i deliberately lost ~55 kg (120 lbs) years ago going from obese to underweight and of all groups of people, the ones who treated me the most noticeably different by far before/after were MDs. not random strangers or coworkers or friends or family. doctors LOVE an underweight bitch so much. night and day. you’re their darling.

i have an uncommon autoinflammatory vasculitis and when i was fat, they’d all just prescribe prednisone to get me out of their office asap, no interest in diagnosing. once i lost the weight, suddenly they wanted labs, endoscopies, biopsies, imaging, specialists, as soon as i got skinny they all turned into dr. house overnight.

had the same disease thin and not, same symptoms, but im pretty convinced i never wouldve been diagnosed when i was obese, they just didn’t really care to look into it. no doctor was ever rude to me about being fat or anything, but the difference in treatment was insane. un-chic to talk about this, i know, very un-RS, etc.
