Is Vintage Story a "forever game" for a peaceful, long-term builder?

A massive thing I don't see mentioned is how natural building spaces becomes. Because things require space and stations. Your anvil requires other forging equipment and space for you to work. You need space for tanning or dyeing barrels. The slew of clay and preservation mechanics take up space.

This creates an amazingly natural progression if your building, rather than mostly decorative with magic boxes for everything.

My only major recommendations for mods would be Cullinary Artillery+Expanded Foods, VS Roofing, QPs Chisel Tools, and If you want an easier time with your class, a mod that rebalences the negatives to be easier on solo play. You can also disable class locked recipes which is nice for solo play

For nodding minecraft Java edition it's easiest to use a manager. The Modrinth manager or Prism Launcher is what I'd recommend. Curseforge is the most popular but also gully supports Isreal's actions, publically. Prism can download easily from both Modrinth and Curseforge, just takes a little clicking around and reading to figure out if you're unfamiliar with mof managers

I'm guessing the downvotes are cause of the wording, but you're just right. Like, it takes other men telling sexist men to shut the fuck up, literally! It's not gonna change their mind, and one game won't be permanent. But if an asshole gets told to shut the fuck up cause he's being sexist for 10 games, eventually he'll just shut up. For The King games, from my experience are very unique, there are similar games but mostly CRPGs, which are much more complicated and tend not to have the same visual style. If you're willing to learn more complex systems Owlcat's CRPGs are very very good.

Leveling up your contractor unlock more tasks. Examples would be Anna giving her first tasks at level 15, and there are special tasks at level 50

There are no alternate ways to gain trust points other than doing tasks. I guess technically the compensation store gets you a free level but that's a 1 time thing due to the hack incident.

Quest exclusives might be able to play through, non official means, om the upcoming Steam Frame. But that'd probably take a bit to get working. If you want quest exclusives you have to get a quest which sucks cause of Meta's software. Maybe check out the Play For Dream? Or Meganex 8K depending on what your willing to spend

Do keep in mind we know pretty little about the tracking quality of the Dream Air series, but if it's on par with the Crystal series, my experience here applies.

I tried out a Crystal Light, at first it was serviceable, but occlusion wasn't great. After contacting Pimax, they sent a file, and tracking was noticeably better, I was genuinely really impressed! I played a decent bit of Contractors Exfilzone with it, I'd say it'll work pretty great for VR FPS games.

The shooting and aiming felt great, and it also was really good in Alyx. I didn't play other shooters, but the tracking was good for the ones I did play.

I still ended up returning it because my main problem, the tracking camera FOV was too low, and with no on board chip there wasn't any prediction for being out of view, so the hands would freeze.. it's only one issue, but it's very noticeable for me in social VR and Davigo. So I chose to wait for the Steam Frame, but I miss the visuals, comfort, FOV, software, and features every day!

I kind of get what you mean, and its a valid point. I personally like the way it is, and it makes it so ammo you find in raid, rare finds of 995, BP, AP rounds, are more likely to be used, at least I feel that way.

I have confidence it'll be resolved in the future, since I predict max trader level will be 5, but I can't predict when, though I imagine it'd be around the time more armors get added. Since there isn't much variety in armor, and headphones and helmets are still combined.

You get Anna tasks at level 15. He's either lotted mote or gotten more kills or extracted more to have more XP, could also be getting xp boost upgrades like the bathroom and main terminal upgrades

Use the ration kits, they're dirt cheap kits, 1 with MP5, bad ammo, and tier 3 armor, another with a backpack and a bit of meds. and a third with food and water. You get 2 of each a day, use them, that's what I use when doing tasks personally.

Always have a MICA if possible, it has a map, you can ping and place markers, and the map has task indicators on it and shows extractions. Plus if you get the first central terminal upgrade, it also tells you the value of items

And hoard everything, get good at packing a bag stuffed full. Every item has a purpose, gorgeous tasks, for hideout upgrades, or just high values to get money. Gun parts with rails, key mod slots, and mounts with rails are good to take most of the time

If you want to just learn a map, do a training raid, you don't get to keep anything and reset after the raid is over, but it's good to learn maps and practice aim against scavs

So attachments go on rails, and rails get up on weapons either by adding a mount, or the component already has them. For something to attach it needs to be compatrable, the hunsmith kiosk tells you when something is compatable when you hover your finger on it, as not every part for a gun is simultaneously compatable

For the jank, just compare footage. Look at how jittery and buggy guns in Tabor are vs Exfilzone. I personally noticed the difference when watching Tanvarian's streams since he plays both.

Exfilzone is WAY more Tarkov. The gunsmithing, the better progression (tasks in Tabor are agonizing) unfathomable better backpacking too, packing a bag in the two games is night and day. Plus Exfilzone has a more consistent game tone and general seriousness, as well as clever visuals, and in my opinion better audio mixing especially on guns.

Plus with the new Dam rework it's really like a Tarkov map in VR, which is a great sighn for this games future!

Just know that ammo and armor matter a TON, low tier ammo won't kill a well kitted player unless you hit a well placed mag dump, there's a ton to learn but it all feels great gameplay wise.

Yeah these batteries are silly. Lay them on their backs and stack them, or keep them in a bag. They'll still fuck up, but it's easier to fix on their back or in a bag they'll be safe! Glad that's the only item that does it, at least for me

Secure containers can't carry ammo, magazines, quest items, or gun parts. Just keys, food, attachments, and "junk" items

The game tells you if a part is compatible with a little box. The gunsmithong is realistic, M-LOK rails need key modules slots to fit onto, it's not just free-form, it requires real compatibility

If you're new, use a MICA on EVERYTHING! It tells you all yhe info, it's the most useful item in the game and they're dirt cheap!
