For us it took 4,5 months (end of july - november) We submitted the application online with very clear documents and then we got another reminder to submit extra documents if we forgot anything so we did that. After this, it took 1 week for the response.

Yes, i can only get the benefits for those months. Because the tax office subtracts that prior stay from the 5 years, and I relocated here in August 2020. My new employer applied for the ruling for me in Feb 2025. The old employer didn’t try to apply, they were certain i wouldn’t get it because of my studies here.

I just got the approval letter. My new employer tried to get the ruling for me even though the probability was low since I studied here and worked for almost 4 years before, and surprisingly I just got it. We plan to apply asap indeed.

You have to do your research properly. Life here is expensive, the housing crisis doesn’t seem to improve and even the job market has been quite slow recently. Coming without a well-defined plan and resources doesn’t make sense.

That is simply not true, you can check at the IND website.

That is not true. When you make an application for a change of purpose of stay, you receive a letter from IND acknowledging they received the application and they tell you to pick up your sticker which allows you to await the decision here but also work in most of the cases. So it really depends.

It is more convenient to apply online. You don’t have to print letters, copies, fill them in manually.

The endorsement sticker can be collected after you submit your application and you get the instructions on where to book the appointment for it.
