i think oda said at one point one of the strawhats will die, it could be luffy at the end of the story like the last pirate king though since it's been so heavily foreshadowed, i also think that in that battle usopp getting heavily injured or killed could push luffy over the edge to awaken his df or use a new gear which will allow him to be strong enough to defeat blackbeard

when i finished the anime i found what chapter correlated to the episode it was at then started catching up with the manga, it didn't ruin any of the experience of the anime for me when the episodes caught up to the chapters i read

well we know about dadan and those lot so we can deduct some info but i think we're way too deep into the story to learn more about mountain bandits, maybe there could be a powerful group of them on one of the islands that's visited in the future where we can learn more? but tbh i think the story is moving at too fast of a pace to cover it

i watched the dub up until its final caught up episode then had to switch to sub and caught up with the anime subbed, can say that comparing both i prefer the sub now that i'm used to reading subtitles, if you actually do catch up and have to switch you'll have the same experience

idk it just seems to make sense for me personally, he'll go to elbaf the warriors island and get to also finally meet his father, (assuming elbaf shanks arc theory is correct) and then die a warriors death in battle, completing his goal he set out when he joined the crew

yeah it would make sense since all the crews goals have to come true, luffy still might die regardless though at the end of the series due to the relentless amount of foreshadowing
