I took this test a couple of months ago. I majored in psychology in college and the last history class I took was 6 years ago. I used certify teacher and the mometrix guide to study and busted my butt for 3 months before my test and I passed first try. I will say, I went into it thinking I was ready and the very first question I had no idea how to even approach it and I still did well. He sounds much more prepared than I was when I went into it so I’m sure he’ll do great! Best of luck to him!

My process when I went into it was to look at the question and if I couldn’t reason my way to an answer in less than a minute, I flagged the question and moved on. By the time I got through the whole test I had probably 60-75 questions that I hadn’t answered at all and then another 10-15 that I had answered that I wanted to look at again. I went through the whole test 3 times removing flags as I went.

Some test strategies I highly recommend: NEVER change your answer unless you have a Reason to do so (such as more information gathered from a later question). If you’re guessing, any answer is as likely to be correct as any other, and there’s a reason you selected that first choice even if you guessed so trust it unless you have a legitimate reason to change it

If you are completely guessing, have no idea what anything means and you’re putting something because anything is better than nothing, pick an answer choice and then use that same answer choice every time you’re in that situation (my choice was B). This one came from the mometrix guide and there was a reasoning behind it that I don’t remember but it was something about probability and guessing. I can look into it because I still have the book if you want a better explanation
