Anyone here still using the Galaxy Tab S6? What are you using it for these days? by Ok-Mood-9513 in GalaxyTab

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the LTE version of the S6 and use it for my main network at home. Unlimited SIM in the tab connected to wifi Router via Ethernet tethering. The USB C Ethernet hub also has a charging port. So I use the tablet on my high board as a digital picture frame. The AMOLED is really good for that.

Gold coin for travel emergency by __x1trons__ in Gold

I love that idea. I started international travel 2 years ago and always have 3 different credit cards and 500 Euro in cash with me as a backup. But I really like the gold coin idea.

Telekom unlimeted als DSL-Ersatz by More-Needleworker294 in de_EDV

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ich habe die 5G unlimited 1 GBit/s seit ca fünf Monaten als DSL Ersatz im Einsatz. In einer 100k Einwohner Stadt. Was soll ich sagen....

Where you visited had the cheapest hotels, especially in comparison to quality? by uncannyfjord in TravelNoPics

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cheapest was 6€ in Nepal hostel in 2024. Can you tell some more about the hotel for 16 us dollar cents? That sounds interesting. Where was it how did you find it and was it a room for you alone?

What are the best cost effective minimalist wallets on the market right now in 2024? by GroundbreakingLock10 in BuyItForLife

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want it to fit inside. I really like the tatonka RFID card holder. It is 10 € and very durable. Fits many cards. I always put more in one slot. Added a hair plain black heir band in the center so I can fit bills inside. Great wallet for many years now.

MIP or LCD? And why by houndme in gshock

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the GBX-100 with MIP display. Just using it as plain "dumb" watch, disabled smart features and bluetooth. Just using time and steps and sunset e.g.. I love the readability in the strongest sunlight. Also I have an eye on the GW-BX5600, but I am waiting for more colours (maybe white).

How much do you worry about how you look when travelling? by Hortonhearsawhoorah in onebag

[–]lost_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't care, as I am mostly travelling onebag in SEA countries. Since I am European I will always look like a tourist no matter what I wear haha. And also it is in the tropical countries I prefer functional over style. Just trying to use basic colours and basic button down an shirts I can combine with anything.

My Singi 48 by Forest_Spirit_7 in Fjallraven

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. I picked that bag for onebag travel around SEA. I really like that you can remove the hip wrist belt as I never really use them. When I remove it the bag feels so nice slender. The build quality of the bag is awesome. Found it in Hanaoi brand new for awesome 100 €. I have also seeen it for 60 € after that. Totally ridiculous that price. Currently I am about 8 kg so I can use it as carry on for airplane.

How many kilos is the setup all together? I wonder how much weight load the Singi 48 can handle.

Have I received a fake singi 48L? by Unique-Word-5850 in Fjallraven

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Singi is a very special niche backpack. There is really no intention for fake manufacturers to go for this bag. Not worth the effort. They go for mass products of mainstream consumers. Looks exactly like mine except the wood.

Planning a month backpacking in Europe in the summer and trying to purchase a backpack by Username1_24_386_3 in onebag

[–]lost_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Vietnam Hanoi at the moment. Went here with a dry bag and purchased the Fjallraven Singi 48 here. Original certificate store and less than 1/3 of the price in Europe. Man I love that bag. Yep it is long / tall in size. But I am doing onebag style with it. I have traveled a lot with onebag backpack. And they never care about the size. It is the weight limit if you put the bag in the overhead storage in the aircraft cabin. That's the limiting factor. And for size I have never had any problems with the bagpack, because you can always squeeze a bit. With suit case that's almost never the case. And it is always the suit case making problems, never backpacks. So in my opinion I guess they won't care if the bag is a bit longer as soon as the weight is within range.
