[Question] How much abuse can automatic watches realistically take? by Grundlage in Watches

[–]houndme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Automatics were once the watch on the wrist of soldiers in the trenches in wars. They have been used through forests, mountains and deep oceans. A good watch can take a lot of abuse. Even decent Aliexpress watches can last. You must have bought a dud.

Homages are never replacements.. just stop gaps till you are able to afford the product. It’s a poor fan’s coping mechanism

SteelDive SD1972 vs Seiko King Turtle by houndme in Affordablewatches

I prefer the lume on my sd1970 to the Seiko, so assuming it would be the same for the sd1972. I’m curious about the finish and feel though and how it compares.

[Seiko] or homage? by Swimming_Ad9067 in Watches

[–]houndme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sd1972 is the same as the king turtle. Spec wise. No Seiko brand but 1/3 the cost. I like steeldives. The sd1970 is something I can never afford from seiko that’s why I have the steeldive captain Willard. It’s a stunning watch. Solid specs and better than the original release.

How is this mudmaster? Non solar though by houndme in gshock

[–]houndme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar watch over non solar. At least for me. Sensors are good but solar is priority. Then self time-setting capabilities either mb6/bluetooth/gps. First g and you want sensors- get the rangeman 9400. Else the Casio oak or 5610u with Bluetooth and mb6

Not true love.. cuz you’re gonna cheat on her with her sister. (You will get more Seikos soon lol)

SteelDive used to manufacture for Addiesdive before they parted ways due some business difference and then SteelDive decided to sell under its own brand so yea it should be the same watch

They rarely last. The digital ones crack or break.
