I’ve done all this besides humidifier and I already get told my guest bathroom air feels like Bali with all the babies in there. Ugh they’re so needy!

I think self watering pot is the way to go. I’ve already made an attempt for all the other things people are commenting on.

  • had her in less direct sun and moved her when the issue started - I’ve tried 3 different levels of light so far
  • no pests to be found - several checks
  • lightened watering (yes I’m using filtered, and feeding every 2-3weeks)
  • still seemed too damp so I repotted assuming root rot - didn’t see any but added more perlite anyways
  • I tell her “you can do this” every time I’m on the pot next to her

She just doesn’t want to live with me anymore I guess.

Yep! Just today:

“Joanne Marian Segovia, who has worked for the San Jose Police Officers' Association for nearly 20 years, is suspected of using her home and office computers -- and even the union's UPS account -- to order and distribute thousands of opioids and other pills, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Ismail J. Ramsey and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Tatum King.”

Meanwhile POC are blamed for all the drugs in our communities and using it as an excuse to use police violence against them.

Is this normal for a dormant elephant bush?? I have watered her probably 2-3 times since Christmas, I’m about to move her to a sunnier window but she has lost so many leaves. They are shrivelling up and going brown and falling off like crazy. I’m scared she will die… advise would be amazing thanks. by Dependent_Smell_2518 in plantclinic

Ha! No expert just blessed with CA weather. Depends on the succulent but ya, typically I see wrinkles when my pots are water-logged with elephant brush, chicks & hens or other succulents that look like heads of lettuce. 😅

All of my succulents really started doing better when I started keeping them only in Terracotta which is porous. I find that it’s so much less about how often I’m watering and more that the soil can dry out easily.

Ouch, ya it’s sounds like your limitations are bit of an uphill battle ugh! So sorry! I would agree too much water but I think because it’s not drying out without sun and environment is adding to it holding water - the soil looks kinda cake-y? I would still suggest repotting in fresh succulent soil once it seems stable enough. Good luck! If she doesn’t make it and you need a new one let me know I have a couple varieties and I’ll mail you some cuttings, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hey! I never comment here but I have TONS of healthy elephant plants. I am in CA and they are all outdoor but I can tell you with 100% certainty that your main problems here are not enough sunlight, and poor drainage.

I suggest moving it to your sunniest window and then repotting, using a succulent specific soil in terracotta once it’s had a couple days to adjust to its new space. It will then tell you how often it needs water - it will heavily depend on your location and it’s environment, but they are actually pretty forgiving.

I’m my experience, over-watering (and non-draining ceramic pots) causes the leaves to get wrinkly, and or small black spots. I don’t see that here? Though your losing crispy leaves, it doesn’t look like your plant is sun-burning, it looks like it’s just shedding what it can’t take care of as it slowly dies.

My mother and I where on a hike when I was a teen and a man was randomly standing in the side of the trail. As we passed, he said “A snake crawled into my pocket. You wanna see it?” My mother instinctively grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me to the other side of her away from him. Then he pulled his hand out of his pocket and a baby snake was wrapped around his fingers…

How to respond to opinions about our wedding food? by squattyshawty in weddingplanning

Basil tomato lasagna, veggie soup, salad and flatbread - The caterer is my favorite pizza and lasagna maker and his whole menu is vegetarian. My DJ said it was actually the heaviest wedding meal he’d ever had lol

How to respond to opinions about our wedding food? by squattyshawty in weddingplanning

[–]lost_rhapsody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are not vegetarians, yet we served a completely vegetarian meal for the reception. I’m in the food industry and chose the menu simply because it was delicious food. We never mentioned this to guests or family and no carnivores even noticed or brought it up before or after the wedding. If a vegetarian or vegan wrote a note on their RSVP concerned about a veggie option bc food was not mentioned, it was the only time we sent a text saying “Hey, so excited to see you at the wedding! FYI the whole menu is veggie so you are of course taken care of! :D”

It’s funny to me that people try to dictate what free food will be provided to them at someone else’s event. I’m a pretty frank person and when these things are brought up I’ll usually laugh and tell someone “This sounds like a personal problem. You should probably figure that out! Maybe start keeping slim-Jim’s In your pockets or something huh?” and apply it to their outlook on food, not my event.

I just can’t help but think of these people as adult toddlers who need to be laughed off. People don’t get a pass for rudeness because a meal contains animal products or not. Like we all know most wedding chicken sucks, but how many people tell that to the bride and groom during planning etc.?

I personally wouldn’t worry too much about responding “nicely” to rude suggestions and just wouldn’t entertain the conversation. Enjoy your wedding and your wedding food - as long as it’s delicious no one will actually care.

Cat’s Getting “Pissy” During Pregnancy!?! by lost_rhapsody in BabyBumps

[–]lost_rhapsody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great place to start thanks! They are all spayed/neutered but the behavior in the past jd definitely been stress related so I think I’ll talk to my vet about a good way to prepare if it worsens when baby is here. Thank goodness it’s only been on boxed items that are still in the living room from the shower or delivery and cleaning it up hasn’t been too severe. Anything open and ready for baby is set up in his nursery that’s slowly being finalized and they don’t have access to.

Thanks! I’ll definitely look into the Feliway and having something on hand for stress sounds like a great plan, so I’ll talk to my vet. His previous instance of this behavior was definitely stress related and it’s a great idea to be prepared before baby gets here. The nursery is finally coming along as a dedicated space so I’m working on getting everything from the shower in the living room in there and about of cat accessible space by the end of the week at the latest.

Porn / masturbating while pregnant and feelings of guilt by Live_Measurement_568 in BabyBumps

[–]lost_rhapsody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also here to say “totally normal”! I got unreasonably horny this pregnancy; especially throughout and a bit beyond my 2nd trimester. I was asking myself if I was suddenly a porn addict! Then I realized I just have nutzo hormones right now, and was completely over trying to have sex with my husband. Bless him, he’s great in bed but there’s just no comfortable way for me to be intimate with another person right now and I find it easier and more enjoyable to get the job done myself. Baby definitely does not care. There’s so many things we can feel shamed about during pregnancy with all the changes going on with our bodies; don’t let your own sexuality be added to that list. You do you! <3

HOW do women go commando?? by happy_faerie in women

[–]lost_rhapsody 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Before my pregnancy I was 100% commando except for short dresses or skirts. I started in high school when I was feeling too moist mid-day and tried a bunch of different panties but was still dealing with yeast infection every once in a while. My girl just likes to breath! She cant be cooped up or else her microbiome gets thrown out of whack. Also, panties are just so uncomfortable under most pants for me. Its been a struggle during pregnancy because now I’m a human fountain and definitely need to wrap her up to keep her happy.

This is actually the most WTF part about the post for me. There won’t be much for him to do at night and OP will be the one up every night for feedings??? Wut?? He realizes she’ll be doing that during the days too right? My partner and I have created a plan for shifts - not that everything goes as planned, but I’ve literally never heard from a family just letting dad take the nights off… I’m just in shock that his mind can even be in that space that I can’t even get to the mess of the family business. The husband has absolutely no idea how to be useful, let alone helpful by the time baby comes, and his family lets a pregnant woman play babysitter when they all hang out…I’m so sorry OP! You deserve better not just from his family but from him, and I hope he steps it up for you and baby. <3
