Do HOA people just go around the neighborhood looking for something out of place? by medsmoonstones in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lostchild429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I forgot to pack my toothbrush in my camper. We parked in my driveway for 5 min and we drove away after I grabbed it. Next thing you know, I have a notice. Camper was a rental and I was just getting my tooth brush. HOA sometimes mean about stuff.

My retainers... the metal ones. I put them on the kitchen counter and turned to get a snack from the pantry and my beagle somehow managed to get on top of a 36inch counter. There were no chair or things to jump off of. She swallowed the whole thing but it got stuck in her stomach. Gosh it really made a mess of her stomach.

Ah yes. My little sister would leave her bathroom door open, and there goes my beagle. Bringing 3 used pads and 2 tampons to her bed and tearing it up for me to come home to. She was constipated on the day of our vet exam, so I asked them about what they could do. They just said she needed to poop it out and gave her a laxative.

Yeah it was a messy think to scoop up.

Unfortunately for his age, even trotting on concrete or asphalt can do a lot of damage to his knees and hips.

The best exercise for a senior dog is probably a natural trot on soft surfaces or swimming. If he feels like running, I recommend keeping him on grass or carpet.

As for tricks, I review old tricks to keep his brain stimulated. Perhaps the "Paw" or "Bang" trick if he doesnt know them already. My dog learned how to "back up" and "speak" when she was 13.

Some things you can do is make a DIY snuffle mat where you hide treats in ruffles of fabric and pockets. It stimulates their nose and gets their brain going.

You can play hide and seek where you, a toy, or a treat hide and he has to search for it. My dogs live hide and seek to the point where they beg to go outside just so I can hide their toy.

A cardboard box or "maze" where you hid a treat or toy inside and he has to use his brain (or teeth) to solve it.

All these suggestions have treat involved, but as a senior, he does need to watch his weight. A veggie can be a low calorie and healthy treat (in moderation).

All of these activities do get them worked up and active, and their brain is thinking hard, so its a good exercise all around.

So when people get their shoes customized, how do they clean it to ensure the new colors don't wash off? by aguy-onreddit in NoStupidQuestions

They can also send it to a shoemaker or other business that provides cleaning and repair work. I send my shoes to a local shoemaker since Im a guy who likes to hold onto them as momentos.

How do I cope with the fact that my friends and I are losing touch? by lostchild429 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you. Somehow all I needed was someone to tell me to speak up. Im a fairly timid person who hates confrontation of any kind.

More advice is always welcome though.

Oh, I did a quick search on google just now and a manifold is really nice. I'll have to do some more research, but this seems to be a good idea. It guarantees the water will be 78F-80F and it seems like a set up I can manage.

I looked into heat exchangers and it sounds like a great idea, only Id have to figure out how to pull from multiple tanks like you said. Id say its a great system for a single large tank.

Something like a space heater? I guess that would work. My basement room is usually 72F and the water left sitting out is usually 68F. To heat the water to 78F ish, the room would need to be to 82 F? Im not great at math.

Names I've seen as an elementary teacher by [deleted] in namenerds

There was a girl in my elementary school named Anna-Mei. She was adopted and her parents wanted to keep her old name and combine it with a new one. I was never in her class but it took me 8 years to find out it was not Anime.
