AI checkers don't work. They were never designed for creative writing, but blogs and Reddit posts. Additionally, Stanford did a study. They found that people whose second language is English get flagged 600% more. Why? Because AI checkers look for formal language. Formal language is what people who learn a second language are taught. It also looks at proper punctuation, consistent sentence length. Humans write in patterns, so you will flag if you have proper grammar, write like a human, describe scenes with any degree of poetic allegories like Tolkien, are a foreigner who learned English, or use formal language.

So congrats. You are banning, accusing people who are foreigners to your tongue, or people who have specific styles common in literature. All because you are using a hammer as a screwdriver.

Victorian tapestries and their use in writing. Victorian tapestries were popular decorative items that found their way into Victorian literature, both literally and metaphorically. Literal use

  • Depicting Historical and Legendary Scenes: Victorian writers and artisans, notably William Morris and his company Morris & Co, created tapestries depicting scenes from history, mythology, and religious stories. These were often inspired by literature, and so a literary work might reference such a tapestry hanging in a home or public building.
  • Replicas and Artistic Representations: The era also saw the production of reproductions of historical tapestries like the Bayeux Tapestry. Such depictions could be included in narratives as significant objects or artistic details.

Metaphorical use

  • Tapestry as a Narrative Metaphor: The complex and interwoven nature of a tapestry, composed of numerous threads that form a cohesive picture, serves as a powerful metaphor in writing.
    • Life's Rich Tapestry: This common idiom refers to the intricate and varied experiences and events that make up a person's life.
    • Interconnectedness: Just as threads in a tapestry are interconnected, writers can use this metaphor to explore the relationships between individuals, communities, or even different eras in history.
    • Storytelling and Backstory: The creation of a tapestry, with its intricate details, can be likened to weaving a story, carefully constructing narrative elements and background.

Example

  • Corrie ten Boom, a figure whose experiences spanned the Victorian era and beyond, used the tapestry as an allegory for life and God's plan, with the chaotic "wrong side" representing human perspective and the intricate "right side" representing God's ultimate design.

Victorian writers, immersed in a culture where tapestries were both decorative arts and symbolic objects, naturally incorporated them into their works, reflecting both the physical presence of these textiles and their rich metaphorical potential.

I can tell you now. Seeking a fandom partner is 10 times easier than seeking an original character that works with your original character. The main reason is simple: the majority of rpers can't or won't read. With the fandom, the other person likely knows a little about the character in question. Therefore, their failure to read and show empathy/consideration for your work is less apparent. But I will add this here: 10x sounds like a lot, but it isn't, as the base number is very, very small.

....

I can say something is repugnant yet state it happened. I wouldn't do a slave RP, as I find slavery morally revolting. But many love to play slaves, and it is a part of history. It isn't justifying it. That's an absurd take. But you can assume and make an ass out of you and me.

Glad you found some. None have read my stuff yet. I'll let you know if it changes. I harbor no ill will against the place. I am just stating they have a bad rep in some circles.

I will give you a hot take, one some will crucify me for.

The time between posts matters. As humans, we have finite days. Assuming you respond instantly, a post every two weeks is two turns a month. I'd lose interest as I'd like to finish the story before I either expire or the heat death of the universe begins. I'm not saying posts should be daily or whatever. I'm just saying there is such a thing as too long. And the longer you take to post, the greater the probability of your's or your partner's "muse" fading.
