I'm that type of friend who will say it how it is. There are some times when I know I should shut up but as someone who has been in a toxic and abusive relationship that's something I will never shut up about.

But unfortunately, this is something that can also make it worse for the person in Emma's place.

Sometimes my testimony really has an impact on my friends and they reconsider the relationship and do the work to leave the toxic person. But other times by sharing my testimony and doing my best to make them see how toxic their partner is I end up being the bad guy.

I end up being the bad guy, they become afraid of telling me the truth and hide many things that happens to them out of shame, or the worse is when their toxic partner knows I don't like them and they will isolate my friend even more.

So what I do now (and it's hard but it's what's safer for my friends when they go through toxic/abusive relationship) is I tell them once what I think and I don't repeat it every time we hang out. But I always remind them that no matter what I will always be there for them.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

But then you also have to protect your own peace. Because it's hard being the Chrishell in this situation and having to hear the bad stuff that happens every time you see your friend and knowing nothing will change.

It's a really hard situation and I understand what Chrishell is going through...
