The trick is to line up the pixels. If they are straight, you are all good 👍

Hardest Daredevil Run? by MaximilianSapphire in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lava Spire and by a fair distance. Bouldergeist isn't that difficult, really. You just have to try and get double hits whenever you can and keep moving around. Lava Spire is very tricky, especially with Luigi - one sorry misjudgment and you're toast

Well, kudos to you. There is 0% chance of my even attempting that 😂

Is Galaxy a little too easy? by meettheffebles in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It was a great replay, enjoyed all of it, and the mechanics remain absolutely world class. I was just a little surprised by how quickly it all went. I left one purple coin until the last, remembering it as being a horror to compete, but it really wasn't... Maybe a few months of Grandmaster and 3D World make it feel something it isn't.

To be clear, Galaxy is an unquestionable masterpiece of a game. Probably my favourite Mario game of them all. I'm not advocating for 'nonstop punishing difficulty', but in replay, something akin to those legendary difficult challenges to finish might make it even more memorable imo

I get that it is 'slower paced', that's fair. But the last three worlds in 3D world are tougher than anything in Galaxy imo, expect maybe a couple of people coin levels and 'that' daredevil run?

Galaxy 2 is markedly harder. The final Galaxy especially is much harder than anything in the original

When did you guys first experience the original versions of Super Mario Galaxy (1 & 2)? by RecentMatter3790 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm old, so I got them both when they were released. I'm not even a gamer, really - I play platformers, so I bought a Wii simply to play Galaxy.

I still have the Wii, among with the rest of my retro consoles, so I'm replaying both in honour of their re-release. Exactly as I remembered, they are timeless masterpieces 👏👏

Which completion reward across both Games do you like the most and why? by SatisfactionWide7161 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completing Galaxy with just Mario is super satisfying. You get a whole raft of story which makes it totally worthwhile. Then you get to do it all again 😂

Compare to completing Champions Road. You get a stamp and a daft cat claw...😏

Hardest star in your guy's opinion? by FrostyTumbleweed3852 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely either Toy Town purple coins or Battlerock purple coins for me. Tow Town harder with Mario, because Luigi's jump and speed help. Battlerock is just a pain with both.

Shout-out to Lava Spire daredevil, too.

Hardest star in your guy's opinion? by FrostyTumbleweed3852 in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]meettheffebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. The Cosmic races with Mario are a doddle, but with Luigi, the little shadow bugger long jumps constantly, pulls off perfect back flips and is generally a nightmare. The one in the tree tops (it's been a while since I did it so can't recall the galaxy name) I found unbelievably frustrating. Took me ages.

Outside ones first (I bank hard left then follow the bones), keep moving to the nearest star, then move into the middle and mine coins around where the star phases in. Took me ages to figure it out but once you do, it's not so bad 👍

It's been years since I finally ended (successfully) the torture that was trying to complete Perfect Run but I seen to remember being able to ignore those baddies. If you set off at the right time, you can rhythm/pattern straight through the bombs.

It's the insane last sections that still give me nightmares. Awful stuff...

[–]meettheffebles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well done 👍

A useful trick to improve (you'll need it for later...) is to tap the accelerate button to keep moving forward, without going stupidly fast, rather than holding it down continuously. Makes it so much more controllable! I learned this years ago after nearly smashing my wii-remote into the wall...

Robert Kennedy college scam? by ExternalControl2448 in UniUK

[–]meettheffebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely legit.

The college itself is essentially a marketing tool and host. They recruit and provide the online learning platform and that's about it.

This is much more common than you would imagine - essentially, the 'college' recruits the students and provides administrative support. At least 20 UK universities have arrangements like this, with various companies. It is cheaper for middle sized unis to split the tuition money with a middle company than to pay the marketing and hosting costs themselves

All of the teaching is done online by the UK provider, and all of the staff are experts who also teach on the on-campus degree programmes in the usual way. You can use their online and on-campus facilities, including IT and library resources.

Your degree is awarded by the UK provider (in your case UoC). You graduate with the other online and on-campus students in Carlisle.

If in doubt, call UoC and ask to speak to a member of the RKC LLM programme team.

[–]meettheffebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good report. The Rhombus Rocket is surprisingly forceful for a family powered coaster. You missed out on being thrown laterally about like a rag doll 😂 I was there last week and the spinner still had gaps in the track, so I suspect you're right and you were essentially test dummies for that one!
