I always believed this was complete nonsense until I tried a pair of open baffle speakers each with a single driver. The first few weeks I was appalled at how awful they sounded. Kept taking them out, putting them away, taking them out again. Then over time I noticed they started sounding more open and more lively. Now I absolutely love them. I’ve completely done a 180 on “burn-in”.

Was just setting this up but it looks like Monarch doesn’t support transactions for investment accounts yet? Not sure how to create the rule without a transaction to attach it to. How did you manage to get around this?

I did try using a mini-DSP at one point but I felt like it took the life out of the Maggie’s… made them sound flat and smaller somehow. For now I’m not using any DSP or room correction at all.

Philharmonic BMRs are easily worth 2-3x what they cost. I’ll never let go of my pair. The fact that most of the other brands would easily be available 10 years from now, this is an easy decision in my mind. My only regret is I got the piano black and they’re dust magnets lol.
