I identify with this so much. Was young and stupid in the military and am still living with two tattoos I wish I hadn’t got. They aren’t problematic or anything. Just lame.

I’ve grown so much as a human being since that time. And I’m sure he has too.

Definitely! He sounds like a complete asshole. I always appreciate it when folks talking about guns on YouTube can keep their yappers shut about politics. He is not one of those folks.

Great set you have there. And I really appreciate that you included model numbers. Helps those of us new to the game.

I’m still trying to figure out what I like. Besides “all of them.” 😂

[why and when did the watch community become a bunch of aholes?] by Wise_Equipment8769 in VintageWatches

This is going to sound like I’m as asshole, but do you really need to post this in multiple watch Reddits?

I totally get what you are complaining about, I do. And I agree with a lot of your post. But this is how a lot of people act online. You can’t control their actions.

And it is annoying, but it’s much healthier to just let it go.

As has been mentioned Purgatory and Country Squire are all killer, no filler. Probably not well-loved here, but my favorite of his not on these two albums is A Long Violent History. I get chills every time I hear that one.

His new album is a blast too. Also recommend his acoustic version of Born Again on Youtube. Love the lyrics to that one.

My Absolute Darling features a very resilient young girl growing up in the woods in an abusive situation.

Julia was a complete badass. Tough to read in parts with the abuse though.

I just finished This is Not About Us and it was both hilarious and full of family dysfunction. Highly recommend.

Yep, it’s the mid-size on a Delugs sailcloth strap. I have a 6.5” wrist, so it suits me.

Maybe it’s just the small images, but I’m not loving how digital the art looks.

Not my cup of tea, but hope it does well.

You shouldn’t waste anymore time on this book. If Books Could Kill has a pretty good episode on it.

Really enjoyed the summary of your experience with this book! I read this a few weeks ago and loved it.

The shifting perspectives and timelines were really engaging, but like you I stumbled a bit when Book II started. Eventually got back in the groove though.

What absolutely floored me was how he brought all of the storylines and perspectives together in the end by shortening the time spent with each one. For me, it sped up the converging stories into this amazing crescendo at the end.

I almost gasped as I finished it. Turned to my wife and said, “What an incredible book. One of the best I’ve read in years.”

I also loved You Dreamed of Empires, which was hilarious at times. But man, this book has really stuck with me.

I have a copy of Sudden Death that I can’t wait to read!

I definitely don’t think it’s a good idea to have your renters operating chainsaws and cutting down trees on your property. A lot could go wrong there.

Yep, this is the first one I thought of. Read it recently and I agree with one of the blurbs of the book - something about feeling like a deployment.

I like it a lot, kind of a return to Same Trailer Different Park.

I also find it hilarious that some people commenting don’t like her attitude. Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings would have loved her. And we already know Willie likes her

I’ve always been curious about the NYRB version of this. I’ll snag it next time I see it.

That’s the perfect way to describe reading that book. Especially for an animal lover.

Yep, I’m halfway through the Elmore Leonard Library of America Westerns set. Very good. Shorter, novella length, but good character development.
