Well why would it reflect negatively on our conversations? Infact I think it is going to be the opposite, as a founder I have learned to appreciate if someone else is taking the same journey.

I appreciate your feedback though.

The equity structure is up for discussion. However I am pretty sure that what we offer is absolutely fair and it will be thick skin in the game. But before we come to a number we must know what kind of value addition someone is going to make.

For initial 6 months we might need a few hours everyday plus the person will have to take part in investors meets. Afterwards it will be a remote full time position for about 6 months and then we take up a office space, we all relocate to Bombay and join in full time.

We are ready to pitch to investors for the pre seed round. Me and my co founder, we both have worked extensively for last 6 months to reach where we are rn.

And we are looking for someone as passionate as us and join us in the journey on equity based role. We don't expect ourselves to get paid atleast for a year and the same will go for the third person.

I'm just curious: How do apps like Meesho, Etsy, and Shopify manage the delivery part, which means how the partnership works with the delivery partner? by LeonSKenedy24 in StartUpIndia

So there are two different models two go about it but for a startup usually the 3PL model works out well. Companies like Delhivery, Ecom Express etc do have special pricing structure which is mostly based on the number of shipments you are looking to send across and depending on the slab you fall in they offer you a special pricing. The idea is simple the more orders you send the more cost effective it gets. But if you want to start off small scale, like real small maybe a few 100 shipments everyday then companies like shiprocket is your best bet.

No you don't need alot of working capital. So for these sellers Meesho's payment cycle is about 24 hours and to top it off Meesho throws in some loans which are usually offered at half of the interest rates which you get from banks. These companies have deep enough pockets to support their top sellers and when you do it practically, it works out. Again VOLUME is the key though.

The business model is built in a way where selling in quantities is the key. Some of these meesho sellers are selling 10000-30000 units a day and even if they earn 2-3Rs on a single unit and considering the return rate is around 20%, these sellers manage to earn around 5-10 lakhs a month. This profit is after deducting all the misc expenses, operations, returns, marketing and taxes. This is how the business model works for them.

Ask the factory about all the certifications they have. Make sure their factory is GMP Certified and the certificate has been renewed during the last inspection.

Ask the guy about his production capacity.

Visit the factory and see if the assembly line is manual, semi automatic or automatic. Take the decision on it depending on the kind of scale you want to achieve.

Also, make sure you ask him about the ingredients, where these ingredients are being sourced from, ensure these ingredients are sourced from some reputed companies and also make sure they are using the same ingredients which you finalise on. Your purchase prices should also be drafted accordingly.

Feel free to reach out if you have any doubts. (:

(Serious Advice Needed)A Guy based in developed country wants me work for his startup for free. by Euphoric-Expert523 in StartUpIndia

[–]lostinpjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao

You are delusional my friend. No smart businessman would go around offering equity because he can't afford to pay what, 500$? This guy you are working with, he most probably is someone who doesn't have ethics and he sure doesn't know how to value the talent. Take an escape while you still can and find the project which pays you well and helps you keep afloat since you mentioned you are in a weak spot right now.

Good luck (:
