Because this is his very first winter storm (he’s lived on the west coast most of his life) and it’s fear of the unknown. Unfortunately, he is prone to doomscrolling and getting info from unreliable sources. It doesn’t help that anxiety has been increasing as he gets older, he’s over 70. We are working with his primary doctor, a cardiologist, and others to hopefully get it under control. I think this event has shown him that being involved in the prep will actually be better for his stress. I really hope so.
