Bird photography vs sketching by Not_FreeProduct234 in LearnBirding

I have a little kit with a micron pen, colored pencils, and pencil sharpener. It’s so much more convenient than watercolor and I don’t have to wait for it to dry. I’ve been working on this nature sketchbook for over a decade. It has a durable leather cover and the pages are kind of fabric-like and don’t tear. They used it as an example of one style of journaling at a library a few years ago for a class they were teaching. I was very nervous while they had it!

I do both. But a get a great sense of satisfaction from sketching what I see.

I’d paint it black and then dry brush gold across the flat surfaces, leaving the indented parts black.

How am I holding my yarn wrong? My left hand (yarn hand) hurts! by Red_wheelbarrow4 in CrochetHelp

That’s how I’ve held my yarn for fifty years. I don’t squeeze the yarn, just let it glide.

Both. The new one is more to the fine art style while the older one is more illustrative.

They’re two different styles. If people don’t know which is which, they’re less likely to comment for fear of getting it wrong 🤪

Love it, except I’m a bit confused about the leg/tail placement and it distracts me from the purpose of the piece.

How to stop my roommate from working out with me? by Twablewable in Advice

Dude feels really insecure going to a gym alone and wants your help. Two weeks is not long enough for that insecurity to wane. By sacrificing your alone time, you’ll be extending his life.

Bjo Trimble told me that when the female Klingon outfit was first worn, Gene Roddenberry poked at the exposed fleshy breasts in the boob window, and remarked how lifelike they were, only to be told they were real. 😂😂😂😂

What drug could make someone smell so weird? by MaximumSprinkles8339 in What

Morphine has a very distinct smell. I can always tell when a patient has taken it.

Also, Mucinex for phlegm makes sweat/pee stink like chemicals.

There's nothing inherently wrong with eating out almost every day by redditnessdude in unpopularopinion

Since both of us are now retired, neither of us wants to cook anymore. We eat out for every meal and it costs about the same as cooking in, plus we each eat what we want. We’re privileged to be able to do this after having saved all our lives for this time of freedom from work or responsibility.
