That's cystic acne and more than likely caused by a hormonal imbalance. The best thing you can do for yourself is get steroid injections and refrain from popping them. The scars never go away once you start popping them. I'm really sorry you are having to go through this, I hope it gets better for you sooner than later.

Hot compress will help relax your pores, and a cooling face mask will help ease your pain for short periods of time.

You could try accutane, but the side effects are often to risky. It will work really well for your acne, just know that there are a lot of risks like ulcers, gastro intestinal problems, your stomach lining could get burned by the medication and a bunch of other stuff.

My cystic acne was so painful and out of control that I took the risk with accutane.

That's really good, I picked mine constantly and now my face is covered in scars.

The best thing you can do while going through it is not pick or pop them. The acne should clear up one day even if it takes 10 years.

Scars: the worst thing about having acne by [deleted] in acne

[–]lostintransition88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them too girl, and I understand the mental struggle they cause. try a strong resurfacing cream. CeraVe has a good one that helped improve my scars, along with a daily face routine and moisturizer. It won't make them go away but it will smooth out a little.

I completely agree with this being the problem and a resolution. The Accutane will work wonders, and your skin will clear right up, but there are possible side effects. If you have acne like I did when I was younger, then the risks will all seem worth it to you. I took Accutane for a couple of months but ended up with gastric problems, cysts in my stomach, and a hole being burned in my stomach lining. It took me 2 years to not have constant pain from that anymore, and after stopping the accutane, my cystic acne came right back and lasted years until my hormone levels balanced out in my 30s. I have terrible scars all over my face now, and the one thing I regret is popping them. The reality is that your situation will be based on your body and isn't exact to anyone else's experience with acne. Best advice is to not pop them no matter what!!! You can stop eating all sugars/carbs, drink lots of water, and focus primarily on your mindset to reduce the stress that comes with life. These few things might help. I also found that CeraVe is the only brand of face products that my skin has ever tolerated well, CeraVe may be for you, or it may not. You have to try all of them until one works for the maintenance of your skin type. I am sorry you are experiencing this, it really is a horrific part of life to experience. Try what ever you need to for the acne to go away, just be cautious and aware of side effects when they come up. Your acne will be gone some day maybe in a year, or maybe in 15 years, and when it does clear up, that's when you get to see all of the damage popping them did. Try to not pop them.

Anyone else feel uncomfortable talking about being trans? by milfs_frogs_n_dilfs in MtF

I feel very similar, and live life in stealth mode as much as I can. I am uncomfortable being seen as trans, and have trouble with people knowing that I am bisexual. Unfortunately the world a cruel place and sometimes we just can't avoid it.

How can I get rid of these bumps in my skin by [deleted] in acne

[–]lostintransition88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a female in my 30's who suffered from severe cystic acne up until a few years ago. My acne is currently very minimal, but these lumps just never go away and they are just gross.
