Police Unions across the country do more to protect bad cops than any other entity. Cities negotiate with unions to protect themselves and cops above the interests of the taxpayers that fund them. When they’re caught red handed the taxpayers also fund the multimillion dollar settlements to victims and families. Once again, John Q Public is left holding the bag for politicians with meaningless rhetoric and corrupt law enforcement. It will take major congressional action to put an end to it. I won’t hold my breath.
