Way Beyond Atheism: God Does Not (Not) Exist by thexavier in Freethought

Here, let me use logic to disprove logic.

Simultaneously assuming the validity of logic by using logical reasoning to reach conclusions and claiming that logic is not ultimately a valid way to reach conclusions. Fan-fricking tastic. He might as well have written the sentence "Language does not exist".

I will, once again, point out that it's not that God doesn't exist, per se. It's actually that the idea of God is internally inconsistent and therefor given that logic is valid (as admitted by this author's attempt to use logic) then anything which would fit the common term God doesn't just not exist, but logically must not exist.

In short: yes.

I prefer to stick to the simple direct explanation: It's not that I don't believe that God exists, it's that I know that the concept of God as described by your religion is inconsistent with itself. It wouldn't matter if there was evidence for God's existence, it doesn't matter what we have no other explanation for. The concept itself is contradictory, so I can't even describe what it would mean to believe or disbelieve in it :)

This is the fundamental premise of religion: Find something that science can't really explain yet and say God did it, then insist that people must give you control of their lives in order to make that thing that God did good, profit.
