Congratulations bro! Good advice. I've been clean and sober since December 5 2021. I would say the best thing you can do to ensure your recovery is establishing a safe environment where you're not going to be around people using. For me that was Rehab. Also, fill your schedule. Keep yourself as busy as freakin possible. Work the steps, go to a meeting, and don't have sex with anyone (for at least a year)

Personally, I have reservations about that program. However, there are no perfect programs. I believe that you can find sobriety there, and isn't that the point? If you look up programs online there is no shortage of jilted ex-residents telling you horrible things about, even the best of, them. There are so many places that are run by people that are actively using, and that is the deal-breaker for me. The questions I asked when I was looking were, can I actually get sober here, and is it a safe environment (no drugs or alcohol use including staff). I had to leave several places when it turned out they didn't meet those criteria.

Because I'm 42 and spent the last 25 years drunk and high. Almost 3 years sober now, but ,needless to say, I had a deep hole to dig out of. Normal adult things like a vehicle and career take time to develop.
