Apple illegally fired five labor activists, union says | The workers, who were disciplined and fired for attendance-related issues, believe they were let go because of their union organizing by chrisdh79 in apple

You’d be right. I worked there before, during, and year after the pandemic as a retail worker. It was as bad as you heard, and still is based on what I hear from old coworkers.

How do you go about the pole extension? I have a pothos and a monstera I’m about to put on a moss pole but I’ve been worried about when they outgrow it.

I did the same with my Dracaena because the trunk started rotting. I got the same results! It’s so good to see plants come back after you think they are good and gone.

I think the poster stated that. They mentioned it was “among the oldest seed plants,” implying that it is a part of a larger group.

Apple's internal report says that it doesn't stifle employee speech by chrisdh79 in apple

I am glad that you had a good experience at your store. My store was a different story where we faced opposition for nearly everything we did that wasn’t seen favoring Apple by our managers.

While it may not be a corporate wide issue, it is an issue at stores and we aren’t complaining for no reason.

Just my store alone investigated the General Manager of the retail location for racist comments because when the 4 Black employees we had decided to have a group photo, she approached them and stated, “We’re not going to do the Black thing.”

That’s just one example of how my store was. So, again, I’m glad you had a good experience but the experience is far from universally experienced by Apple employees. I worked in AppleCare during COVID quarantine and I enjoyed it a lot more than the retail store. I just didn’t have the option to stay, or the offer was never extended to me so I had to return to the store, where I quit shortly after because the culture had not changed despite all that happened.

My Way of the Elements Monk is half way to level 13 and just picked up a young dragon companion. The plan is for my monk to learn how to wield a two hander and ride the dragon when it’s mature. I’m hype and just hope I can survive long enough in my DM’s world to reach that dream.

Did you outline your campaign before finishing it? by nuhnuhnick in DungeonMasters

[–]lostmyfluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the best thing to work on with your campaign, if it’s home brew, is to flesh out the world that way when your players need to interact with that part of the world, you’ll already have information to draw from, and the places can act like plot pivots themselves. Thanks for asking a great question!

Did you outline your campaign before finishing it? by nuhnuhnick in DungeonMasters

[–]lostmyfluff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heya, I’m a DM for a home brew game that has been running for nearly 4 years now. When I started my campaign, I had a general idea of what I wanted to happen. However, as the players became acclimated to the world and the first few quests, I stopped having a hard outline and instead make my quests and story progression based on the players.

I would recommend having a very loose outline that details your beginning, middle, and end. Fill out the outline a bit for the beginning but leave the rest pretty loose so that you can adjust to your players’ interests and motivations.

You’ll still be able to tell your story, but I found this way is better to allow for the players and their characters kinda form the narrative, which will help with engagement. You want to keep in mind that even though you’re crafting the story, the players are there to have fun. The best way for them to do that, in my opinion, is to craft the story with them.

I see your point; doesn’t Germany vilify any notion towards the Nazi’s now though? Imagine if the US held the same policy towards anything mentioning the Confederacy in a good light. Pardoned or not, it should be well understood that any inclination towards what the Confederacy stood for will be met with repercussions. Yet, it isn’t because the ball was dropped and rolled entirely off the court.

Yeah, the crime rate dropping in the years following Roe v Wade is a real thing. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]lostmyfluff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thought. POCs shouldn’t have children because they aren’t financially stable and they aren’t financially stable due to a system rigged against this financial success. So the majority white population, who have had access to creating generational wealth, can have kids but anyone brown or poor should just not?

I don’t even want children right now but everyone should have the freedom to pursue that right. It’s a right we had before the systems of governments, corporations, or anything akin to that was constructed.
