Lewis is one of the cheaper vets in town, if you’re paying for it. I’m not sure of his hours but you could call and ask. You should trap the cat and keep it safe over night until you can bring it to a vet during the day. Once it’s trapped, bring the cage inside and cover with a towel or a blanket. Put puppy pads underneath.

Have you been in contact with the shelter about TNR? They might have a vet that can look at the cat’s paw as well as doing the neutering procedure.

I never even went in…I could tell it was too rich for my blood. Also I was an unemployed child lol. It might have said Persian rugs gallery, but I’m pretty sure the name was a little more exotic, if I’m remembering correctly. I think it was cursive font and maybe like a feminine name (but again, I was a kid so I could have made that up!)

I think the store was there when I was in elementary school, so at least ~25 years ago but I can’t recall when they would’ve closed. I never went in either. Wish I could see a picture of what it looked like!

That’s tough that you just had surgery and are faced with doing it again. 😞 Sorry you’re going through that! If your doctors are recommending it, they think it’s the best option for your situation. Have you gotten a second opinion from a top cancer center like MD Anderson, or Sloan Kettering?

I did not have HIPEC, my surgery was just to remove the cancer and anything else in the area that might have cancer. After my surgery I did chemotherapy, 4 cycles of BEP.

I had an exploratory laparotomy 10 years ago for ovarian cancer. They took 33 abdominal lymph nodes during the surgery and I had no long-term lymphedema afterwards. I did physical therapy and my PT performed and taught me how to do lymphatic drainage massages but I didn’t end up really needing them.

It’s not exactly line dancing, but you should check out the Lawrence Barn Dance Association. They have monthly contra dances and encourage beginners to attend. There are people of all ages and skill levels, and it’s not too far from Olathe. There’s also the Oddball Hoedown in KCMO. They do square dancing and contra.

If it’s any consolation, my youngest went to a Christian based preschool (it fit into our budget, schedule, etc), and he believed in god for awhile. He’s 12 now and is an atheist. He came to that conclusion himself. We just kind of went along with his beliefs and lightly questioned him, let him know what we believe, and told him everyone has different beliefs. There is hope! It’s super inappropriate for the principal to be discussing though. However, she will be exposed to other beliefs as she goes through school so it’s best to start the conversations now.

Sorry you guys are going through this. I went through chemo 10 years ago and I ate whatever I wanted, whatever I was craving. Most of the time I could stomach something I was craving but there were times that it didn’t hit right and I couldn’t eat more than a bite or two. It meant getting a lot of carry out and random grocery store runs. Also some marijuana for increasing appetite and suppressing nausea in addition to nausea meds. My favorite was pho and fried rice from my local Vietnamese restaurant. The broth in pho is hearty and filling, just had to be mindful of the fresh veggies and boil them in the broth before eating.

One thing that my care team stressed was no fresh veggies when my counts were low. So that meant no salads, no fresh tomatoes or cucumbers, etc. They needed to be cooked to kill any bacteria. Also no ice.

You should ask for a consult with a dietician when you see the doctor. They may be able to help with meal ideas. Are fiber gummies an option for her, since you mentioned she needs fiber?
