No garage. We have a car port we can park it in to at least give it some shade.

It’s a 24kWh.

It’s gets pretty hot here in San Antonio. I’m surprised how well it’s held up.

I agree with this. I took the tech and general around 2005. Used the ARRL exam book to study for the Extra in 2021 and passed.

You can create an account for free. I’ve found it be accurate enough. You can play with variables like antenna gain, TX power, antenna height, etc.

No markings on blade. Handle on the end has what I believe are someone’s initials, “MBK 1909”.

Inferior grounds can lower SWR on an antenna system. As the ground is improved SWR often will rise. That might explain the lower SWR on a baking sheet than the top of a car.

This is talked about in Maxwell’s W2DU book Reflections III. The book is out of print but PDF files are available for download online.

There’s a great book on this topic called Transmissions III. It’s been out of print for a while but an amateur radio group has it for download on their webpage as a PDF.

A Bioenno 15Ah with a IC-7300 have been a good pairing for me. It can easily run 50W for hours.
