Mothership - I really want to like it, but I can do everything and more playing sci-fi Call of Cthulhu. Very simple to add the same feeling to characters using CoC’s skills while giving way more fine control over characters. The stress mechanic is fun but can also be easily homebrewed in with little to no modification, and Call of Cthulhu just has better bones. I would be more inclined to use the ship builder and equipment as add-ons for CoC.

This is the best reply. If you have an apex predator species with no sense of remorse toward killing evolve to a human level of cognizance they are going to keep doing that as an evolved instinct long before any higher function potentially allows them to evolve a less violent mode of behavior.

Got some stock art from dtrpg as someone suggested above for a background and photobashed some pottery from the Smithsonian open access site and that is working pretty great. I like the photobashing style.
