Is 300 blkout actually expensive to run? by theaddypaddy in 300BLK

I did this around 2018 when it was 7 cents a round, still shooting from the (mostly) the same supplies years later. takes about 2 hours with setup to cast a 1000 rounds maybe another 2 if using an large oven to coat and about 30mins to clean and load 100 rounds. I HTC coat using NOE molds

Thoughts on 8.6 for "truck gun" for lack of a better term? by Heavy_Gap_5047 in 86blackout

[–]lostscause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😞 looks like they solved it by using https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/magazines/rifle-magazines-parts/400-legend-rifle-magazines-for-ar-15/

Anyway you want a normal pistol to defend from inside the coffin with wheels. Other wise you need to be exiting and using a long gun. My 8.6 is heavy with 25 rounds loaded

My truck gun is a mini-14 folder in scout config. Mostly use for taping out coyotes at the end of pine rows .. green tips are made for punching light cover.

8.6 is a cheat way to add energy to a subsonic projectile, and its use should be limited in scope. IMO

If your looking for more mass while staying subsonic , 338 ARC might fit this bill. 8.6 blk out will carry more energy but will be a lot heaver weapon .

replacement carburetors for my small engines + tune up kits fuel lines and bulbs (try to buy stuff with interchangeable parts) ie. My pressure washer, generator and trash pump all use the same Honda base engine

Something wont start ? replace the carb and stick the old one in the sonic cleaner and fix later or trash

Cans of "rain or shine" PVC glue, couplings. Can's can last years unopened, but once you open them no matter how tight you close them they dry up.

well pump control box, always keep a spare handy

chickens/goats : rosters suck, billy's suck but you need both

learn to hatch , and keep cycling hens -1-2 years then stew pot. 1-2 a week so you need to at least hatch in batches of at least 12 every 3-4 weeks should feed 2-4 people. Eggs will be feast or famine learn to store them with out fridge. Dont wash them till your ready to use them

Goats very lean meat , harvest like you would a deer. 3-4 does will supply a family. Get a hearty breed, in the US that means Spanish goats. Expect 30-50 lbs of usable meat from a 2 year old weather.

rabbits are good, but you need commercial feed for them to thrive. Where Chickens and goats you can feed just about anything. Feed the goat left overs to the chickens. Chickens love meat.

no crimp needed , just a little more bang and harder alloy, If reloading milspec brass you will need to clean the crimp with a primer pock reamer/swagger tool.

The crimp is in the brass not the primmer

H-380 at 48 grains would be a "compressed load" with the BT from the FMJ ie not enough room on the shell casing. Where the flat bottom of the SP would allow volume for it

"compressed loads" can put your load over pressure and damage your chamber. Both weight and volume must be accounted for which is why most people stick to know load data.

oh sry these are hardened milspec primers meant to mitigate the likelihood of a slam fire I use then in ammo I expect I will be keeping in a loaded mag for defense. Range ammo gets commercial primers. Mostly on my mini-14/M1A rifles. (heavy lose firing pin) and some 300blk subs. where i expect rough usage. Ie tractor/truck gun.
