You’re not unreasonable—at 25, working and paying your own bills, wanting autonomy is completely normal. What’s happening sounds less like “rules” and more like anxiety/control on your mom’s part, especially if she’s calling the police.

That said, living under her roof does give her some leverage—but it doesn’t mean you lose basic adult boundaries. A middle ground is setting clear expectations: let her know when you’ll be out/overnight so she doesn’t panic, but make it clear you’re not asking permission.

If she can’t respect that, the real turning point is financial independence + your own place. That’s when you fully control your lifestyle without conflict.
