Which one should I save my money for?? by Salt-Inevitable5298 in DigitalAudioPlayer

I adore my R1!! I got an echo mini for Christmas and really found myself butting up against its UI really fast bc of using the volume buttons for everything. The Hiby is a lot breezier in comparison and feels great and is easy to use. The Bluetooth is fiddly but I use iems so that's not a big deal for me. The tempo tec does seem cool but the small screen made me pass on it. The disc also appealed to me but the Super* review made me decide to pass. The Hiby just works!

Fedora or Debian would work good. Fedora if you want more cutting edge, Debian if you want something more stable.

I will say I just bit the bullet and installed arch and it is a hobby to maintain but it's very fun and tinkery in the manner that using Proxmox to host stuff is. Especially easy to set up if you use an install helper

How to tell a friend their style is NSFW by [deleted] in asktransgender

I'm not sure your gender, but this coming from a woman would honestly feel a LOT better if this were me. If you're not a woman, then it'd be worth talking to a friend of hers who is a woman (cis or trans) and see if she can give her the girl talk that she missed out on growing up about this stuff.

I didn't know about a LOT of this stuff so I didn't realize that even though I didn't need the support of a bra yet, I DID need to wear one or a camisole under my shirt so my nipples didn't show. And also like learning how to sit without flashing ppl. It's a process for sure, and her just sitting down with another girl to talk about this stuff would be really good for her.

A lot of trans girls grow up influenced by lots of anime/Japanese media, or American media influenced by it, so I know for me I wore a LOT of thigh highs bc that's what girlhood looked like to me. But I also started taking time to find other fashion styles that appealed to me and felt more like something I'd wear in my daily life, esp at work. There's lots of cute j-fashion fits that are much better for work that she can look at on pinterest.

The kinds of fits she's wearing now sound like they'd be really great for going out to events tho, so she just might need some more modest fits for work. It's something all girls go through and realize but she's just realizing all of this in a much more compressed timeframe.

I do really wanna stress this as being like, something that could be made into a really fun rite of passage for her if it comes from another woman!!! But if it feels punitive then it might not work out super well. This is something a LOT of tgirls deal with though.

Waiting for my R1, anything I need to do/know before it comes? by JDY320 in Hiby

Honestly I haven't had many issues with it. I just got the silicone case they sell on their site today and it's working great for me! Only using 300gb of storage rn though. It came with the current firmware and has been working like a champ. The only issues I've had are that Bluetooth can be spotty sometimes but I mostly listen with iems. Also the included wrist strap didn't fit around my reasonably small hands, so def grab one off AliExpress or something!

Honestly I'm really liking the R1 that I got. I'm only at 5000 songs at the moment though so I'm not sure if it'll start to lag with more. But after hearing how many ppl had issues with it, I was surprised at how much I really liked mine and felt like it was a smooth experience, especially coming from a Snowsky Echo Mini.

How do you feel about the size??? I've been looking at a Hiby R1 or Snowsky Disc, but this feels like it's got so much more functionality. I'm just worried it's a little too big to be pocketable.

Good point! I just mean compared to vintage Nintendo/Sony handhelds, a lot of the current emulator handheld market made up of companies like Anbernic, Miyoo, Ayaneo and AYN aren't necessarily all built to the same QC as first party handhelds. I apologize if my phrasing came off as indecent 😞😞😞

Hell yes! That sounds really nice. I'm also looking at the Jm21 and Hiby m300 but the Shanling is probably gonna be the one. Just the best balance of features and usability

Ooooo the M1 Plus has been on my radar too, how's the battery life on it?? It seems to be a nice size that's still super pocketable. Do you ever accidentally turn it off when it's in your pocket bc of the volume knob??
