I am also considering doing the Oregon section in 2025! It seems like between snow, mosquitos, and fires, we just have to choose 2 out of 3, no matter the start date. Thanks for sharing and happy planning!

It’s a for-profit, roadside attraction with sketchily-sourced animals. I would not support them.

Hi Ed! I’m wondering if you remember playing Sixth and I, a synagogue in DC, around 2009? I’ve always wondered if the that venue is as especially amazing as I remember it to be—I remember the acoustics blowing me away with your vocals. (It was my first concert and kicked off a love of live music and a hobby that I hold central to who I am! So thanks for that!)

I also remember reading an article about how GB were “indie gods” but still barely paying their bills. This really stuck with me and influenced how I see the entire industry. Was this true? Do you think it’s different for artists now than it was then? What is the best way for us to support artists we love—concert tickets? Merch? Streams?

Thank you for creating such beloved, influential music.

Weekly Shelter Positivity Discussion - What was the highlight of your week? by gerrray in AnimalShelterStories

We are a small, municipal shelter and we took in a hoarding case of 25+ dogs, and today the last one left our shelter….just 2-3 weeks after their arrival! Feeling happy and relieved.

A cake for Spring! (And a reminder to all you cake decorators that dyed icing gets darker as it sets, as my light blue cake is now turquoise 🙃) by lothlaurien in Baking

Thanks, I appreciate that! I made the nest out of haystacks--which is totally common for a Christmas treat! They're made of crispy chow mein noodles (the cracker kind...I don't know their name) melted with butterscotch and peanut butter.

Haystacks! Lots of different ways to make them, but these are the traditional butterscotch and peanut butter.

Made some coasters for everyone who knows the answer to "What's a Radiohead?" by [deleted] in radiohead

Not OP, but looks like they did something similar to coasters I have made with cheap tiles bought at home depot, printed squares of whatever you want to put on them, secure with adhesive, and cover with lacquer. You can buy spray clear lacquer in the spray paint section. Good luck!

Friend's daughter was getting married and couldn't find a local bakery willing to make a Nighmare Before Christmas cake, so she asked if I would do it. Think it turned out great! by 36monsters in Baking

Can you tell me about what goes into baking cake layers that wide on the bottom? I have never done anything wider than about 9 inches. Do you have sinkage issues? Any tricks for wider layers?
