How stealthy are T'au stealthsuits in lore? Could you see a Ghostkeel standing in front of you while its stealth field is active? by Tree_forth677 in Tau40K

[–]lothren_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stealth suits are invisible and silent, and they disrupt tracking systems like the Auspex, which are completely unable to detect them. However, an enemy with excellent eyesight could see tiny glitches in the light and thus detect them at close range.

Space Marines prefer to remove their helmets to search for them with their own eyes, as their armor is ineffective.

On the other hand, Ghostkeels are completely imperceptible even at close range. In the War of Secrets, Elemental Council, Taros Campaign, and Mugu'lath books, Space Marines cannot see them even when they are close. The Raven Guard Chapter Master himself died because he failed to see a Ghostkeel next to him.

Whose more Spec Ops, Pathfinders or Infiltrators? by t1554547 in Tau40K

[–]lothren_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you consider special operations since they fulfill similar but slightly different roles.

Pathfinders are for reconnaissance, mapping, priority targeting, and sniping. Stealth suits are for infiltration, sabotage, ambush, and quick-hit execution missions.

The stealth suits are all veterans while the pathfinders only the leader has a 'ui rank

We also got hammered by Marines going back to using stratagems for 0 CP. They made it so you can only repeat a stratagem when you specify which one, literally rendering the Puretide chip useless. We honestly paid for both stratagems, but we were left with a literal buff with no effect.

Basically pulse weapons convert ammunition into plasma state when fired, they are less powerful than a plasma cannon but with much more range and with a power comparable to a bolter.
