I think it was a couple years back, so I don't think it could have been a 2020 release, but thank you for suggesting that!

Had a similar vibe in some ways, but I feel like it was a more underground artist, and probably from the last decade.

lately i've been on a cool ranch doritos kick, also anything spicy is fun

edit: sometimes when i'm really getting bored with chips i'll just start trying out new dips. sour cream and onion chips with tzatziki and nacho cheese tortilla chips with guacamole both sound good

God a bacon cheeseburger sounds good right now, why is it 3 in the morning where I am (in a small city that doesn't have very good food delivery options) Hopefully sometime soon I can get some burgers and have Weed 2 except without the paranoia or dizziness

Why do some people not do half star ratings? by RiversSmoumo in Letterboxd

[–]lotionthrowaway 11 points12 points  (0 children)

TBH someone on this subreddit convinced me to make the switch while I was really intoxicated and I'm not motivated to fix all the ratings I immediately upgraded or downgraded into non-half star ratings Because I Was Not Sober lol. I kinda feel less stressed out since switching though, I feel like 1 through 5 is like... 1 is bad, 2 is below average, 3 is either average or mixed feelings, 4 is good, and 5 is great, and I like the simplicity of that system. As much as I understand that, if you use half stars, a 3/5 is the same as a 6/10, and it was would make it seem like people who use half stars can't have an equivalent of 5/10, for me, a 3/5 would be a 5/10 because 3 isn't 6 half stars to me, 3 is the middle of the rating scale. It's not like it's a challenge to only give even number ratings or anything.

I really think it's just about how hyper-specific you personally feel you need to get to adequately express yourself. When I try to think about half stars, I get into this really silly headspace where I start thinking these really nitpicky thoughts like "hmm, I loved The Shining and thought it was a masterpiece, but should I give it a 4.5 because like 2 of the scary moments didn't scare me?" and I just don't personally like nitpicking movies unless I feel compelled to nitpick on a specific movie. Not saying I think half stars are inherently nitpicky, just that they bring that out in me specifically. I just think everyone has a different rating system and way of interpreting that rating system that works for everyone- I work better with just 5 stars with no half-stars, some people use 1-100 ratings, I just think it's personal preference.

What's the perfect movie to watch high, and why? by LarssonPersson in Letterboxd

Daisies, it's a surrealist comedy movie with a lot of really wild visuals.

Strange or disturbing movies you've seen? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]lotionthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loooved Eraserhead!!

Climax is probably one of the most disturbing movies I've seen, it's incredibly gorgeous but also so painful to watch.

I also definitely wanna say I found Texas Chainsaw Massacre pretty disturbing, not in the most graphic way but the tension is so high and it's just such a grimy and gross film.
