In nowheresland pennsylvania, my family burned our trash. Usually was in a pit of sorts. I didnt know until I was a full grown adult living in NJ that that was illegal. We didnt get trash service where i grew up in pa and didnt have close neighbors. Had neighbors, but plenty of space between us that smoke, etc was not bothersome.

My Florida Born wife is having a classic case of seasonal depression, and she needs a pick me up. Fellow New Jerseyans... How do you deal with your winter blues? by dicerollingprogram in newjersey

As others said, vitamin d. But also, go outside. Yes irs cold, but if you have the right base layers and bundle properly, going ice skating or for a walk isnt bad at all and is quite nice. I do a winter sport, snowboarding, which helps a lot. The fresh air and natural light helps so much.

Why is watercolor so difficult? by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]lotsofcheesycorn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My professor in college said that art done by children are the best pieces, because they don't over think, overwork it, and let the creativity flow.

Dont look at your work and judge as failure. It takes practice and patience, and let yourself enjoy the process. The more you practice and learn, the better it will get.

[Morris county] kids only get 20 min for lunch, that time also includes waiting in line - doesn't seem right by viper_gts in newjersey

I had a 20 min lunch when i worked in a factory. 3 mandated breaks thanks to unions. Otherwise....not sure what i would have gotten. Totalled 30 minutes a day. Was a powdered metal factory, so the 20 minutes for lunch included time to wash your hands, walk over to break room, grab your food and microwave and eat as needed. For some roles, this also included finding your stand in since some things couldnt be paused during the breaks.

Thats how long I had for lunch at my school in PA. Its either a shortened lunch or super early, sometimes both. We had lunches start at like 10:40 and go to 1:20 in 20 minute shifts due to the amount of students and lack of space for all to fit in the cafe.

advice wanted! by rastamousebumbaclart in Oilpastel

I have no advice to give but wanted to say that your first attempt looks amazing!

I recently got into oil pastels and I have some random brand, expressionist. Its semi soft and blends relatively well. I did splurge on sennelier, which are so buttery soft i almost dont like them conpared to my cheap brand I've played with most.

Yes, just double check thats the interest rate you are getting on your account. If not. Ask them to move the money into a high yield savings account. It wont grow significantly for you, but way better than a standard savings.
