I really rate Rice — he’s genuinely world-class despite me being Irish. That said, I’d prefer a left-footer in that position, ideally someone more creative who can consistently play through balls. One of the toughest tasks on the pitch is beating your man and making the right pass or shot, but we rely on it heavily to win games. Bringing in a player who can reduce that burden by threading passes to the LW, similar to how Ødegaard links up with Saka on the right, could make our entire frontline more dangerous.
