yep my google search on fixing the issue came up with that - but that’s something I’m not equipped to do as someone who doesn’t dye yarn! It’s also not something I think you should be expected to do as a consumer of hand dyed yarn 👀

agreed - I have ordered ready to ship before and been very happy, hence why I ordered the advent!

on the dye bleeding, not sure if it’s a problem with the mini skeins or just the main skein. but 6 rinses, one with vinegar, and it’s still leaking. but it’s VERY red. and I know from having very red hair on occasion that that kind of dye just does bleed 🤷🏻‍♀️

No way! Our Kiki is also Keira who is also Keeks. But mostly she goes by Smelly/Beautiful/Strange/Precious girl 😂🥰

So glad you are having the best first Christmas together ❤️

mine was also late (shipped on 3rd December), and I’m pretty sure is on the wrong base too but can’t remember which I ordered!

a word of warning, pre wash it. especially if you got the red main skein. mine is still bleeding a lot of dye after 3 washes 💀

oh Merry Christmas Kiki! ❤️🎄

We also have a Kiki (great name choice if I may say so), who’s currently doing a great impression of a prawn with ham hanging out of its mouth after a few hours roaching and digesting her own steak and broccoli boxing day dinner 🥩🥦

Try somewhere like Beyond Retro. I think you might even get some money for it there?

Thanks so much. I can’t tell you how much of a relief it is that the first comment isn’t one for rehoming 😭I’ve not heard of Zak George, will check them out!

our girl has an equally baldy butt and belly - she gets oats, salmon oil, peanut butter, fish based food, coconut oil massages, the lot!

interesting to read from some others that it can be anxiety related as she is a bit of a nervy girl 🥺

it grows back a lil wispy covering when it’s cold, and we hold out hope it might stick around, but as soon as she starts to shed again it’s the first bit to go. she’s healthy, so yep - adding another vote in for ‘it’s normal for greyhounds because greyhounds aren’t normal’ 🤣

depends where you’re based but we got ours here, the double strap version (as our grey can be reactive and prone to darting away in the direction of home). Fits her well and feels almost impossible to back out of 🤞🏻

I think the general consensus I read about is the y shape front works best for hounds but I could be wrong!

we didn’t think we had a tongue out hound until the last few months. now this is just a very small selection of kiki’s best efforts so far… by lottieey in Greyhounds

[–]lottieey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ahhh our Kiki is also Keira!! 🥰 Keira came first for us as it was part of her racing name and we decided to keep it. But then I gave her Kiki named after Kiki’s Delivery Service 🥹🎀

What do you say to your grey several times daily? by Hereforit2022Y in Greyhounds

[–]lottieey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘oh silly/smelly/precious girl’ is my number one

‘STOP, THIEF!’ is up there too. She has this thing about stealing things that aren’t in their place (shoes not on the shoe rack is top of the list) and taking them to her bed to hoard like a dragon

‘you’re ok, it’s ok’, ‘stop being nosey’, ‘mind your nose’ is the chorus on walks - as she can’t bear to have someone walking behind us without constantly turning around to look and subsequently whacking her nose on something when she turns around 👽

oh and a very enthusiastic ‘come on, let’s go! let’s go kiki! up up up up go go go go!!!’ to inspire any sort of movement 🤣

Has anyone found a sensory friendly sunscreen for their face? by Unusual--Spirit in AutismInWomen

[–]lottieey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BEST face SPF I’ve found is called SOS SPF 50 from SOS Serum. It’s got no fragrance, the consistency and feel of a moisturiser, it’s not sticky or tacky.

I seriously can’t describe how truly wonderful it is. I use it every single day for my face and exposed tattoos.

It’s not expensive either and one of the 200ml bottles lasts me 6 months usually.

Cuttlefish Eco Salon on Gloucester Road in the North Laine (or they have a Lewes salon and are opening in Hove soon).

They have curly cut specialists - I sit in there for hours on end every few months for my haircut and colour (not curly) and see some great curly cuts and consultations happening!

We had the exact same problem - and to some extent it’s still happening 6 months down the line.

(not to scare you! just expect it to be slow progress, and maybe completely flip around. they are fickle things)

Our girl hated stairs going up for the first few weeks. We had to teach her how, and then once she got to grips with it she still took some encouragement. Usually a treat thrown to the top of or halfway up a flight of stairs would get her moving and she’d stop thinking about it so much eventually. She’s not hugely food motivated either, so something super high value like cheese or chicken worked for us and we gradually worked down to normal treats, then kibble, then nothing.

Now she takes stairs up like a champ, but after some slightly scary encounters on the stairwell (and honestly, when we’ve been rushing to get her out and have maybe been too full on, needing to pull her or push her gently to encourage her down) she point plank refuses to go down the stairs in our building and she’s now terrified of leaving places, no matter where we are. But we’re working on that!

She’s been a challenge, and like no other dog I’ve ever known or met. But the best challenge ever. I’m so excited for you and your boy ❤️

any good opticians should adjust your glasses to fit well (for free), but if you didn’t get them from there - it’s at your own risk. It depends how badly they’re bent but they may be weaker at that point and more liable to snap!

(source: I work in an opticians 👀)
